I have a low end bike (Lectric) with good features for the price, being extremely rugged and under a thousand dollars, but has the drawback of a 30 mile range under flat conditions due to the very heavy weight.
The nice thing about a gasoline car is I never have to watch the gas gauge.
Great personal story there, rlmorel. Words of wisdom: think twice about electric transportation... no matter how many wheels.
Since when do “mid-size” and “three row” belong in the same sentence?
“if one does an equivalence between the costs of gas and electricity, “filling up” an EV is equal to $17 a gallon.”
That sounds high. Gasoline around here is in the 3 dollar range.
Electric luxury cars make sense to me. The rich don’t care about range because they drive those things on boulevards. They are great to drive and show off to others. The rich don’t care about maintenance costs. For longer distances, they fly.
The rich pay hundreds of thousands for a Rolls Royce. What are they buying?
Cadillac EV sales are hovering just above $0
GM has no engineers capable of designing an electric Cadillac that will sell.
A Cadillac is a GM vehicle made by the UAW and can’t be compared to the vehicles of Mercedes or BMW or Rolls Royce or Toyota.
“A Cadillac is a GM vehicle ... can’t be compared to the vehicles of Mercedes or BMW or Rolls Royce or Toyota.”
True but plenty of luxury car buyers buy Cadillacs anyway.
