As usual, she lies like a rug. The program was initiated after states set their budgets, and the states have to pay half the freight. Since unlike the fed they can’t just print and/or steal more, they are putting off using the program until next year when they can budget for it.

Yeah, they got rid of everything kids wanted to eat and all bread was whole wheat trash with tons of preservatives.
If a parent can’t feed their children a SANDWICH, that child would be better off in another home!!
Most of the school food went in the trash and the kids started carrying their lunch.
The kids carrying their lunch led to another social crisis because kids from better off families had nicer lunches.
Oh, NO, we can’t have food inequity at our public indoctrination centers!
So, Big Mike said that everybody had to eat school lunches.
Of course their was no mechanism for Big Mike to enforce that decree so it was ignored.
Today local official would probably bend the knee and force the kids to Eat The Bugs.
