This:

Ultimately, The Washington Post’s breathless attacks on homeschooling reveal an unquestioned assumption that children belong primarily to the state and not to parents.

Exactly.

Because they’re Leftists who want as much government school political indoctrination of the young as they can get?

Now I’ll read the article.

I’m in favor of storefront schooling.

Put that excess retail space to better use.

Teachers could recruit a class of students online and rent space when then reached their operating numbers.

I like that. Basically brings back a one-room schoolhouse approach. Base it all around a “school marm” type of person rather than government “standards” (i.e. indoctrination).

My former neighbor was not pleased with having to teach her grandchildren during the Covid scare.

Don’t look now, but commercial office space might be a better choice. Lots of it available.

Because homeschoolers care more about their kids’ education than the teachers’ union does.

RE: Teachers could recruit a class of students online and rent space when then reached their operating numbers.

It’s a good idea. Here in NYC ( especially in the Asian Communities), we have something similar .... but for SAT tutorials that will help High School Students score high in the College Entrance Exams.

Now, how do we determine that the students are REALLY learning the material?

Who will indoctrinate them with queer theory and hate-whitey agitprop if they aren’t in a public school that is run by commies and woketards. How will the left survive if people homeschool???

It won’t, that’s how.

Seems to me Bezos, who I give credit for building the empire of Amazon, became like many successful elites. Because successful at one enterprise, like Zuckerberg with Meta, think the government (i.e. them and the other elites) can rule the rest of us smelly Walmart shoppers.

Because homeschooling means the kids will not be brainwashed, gaslighted, or presured into liberal group-think, perversion and deviant behavior and acceptance of Immoral behaviors-

It is also because the perverts can’t groom kids like they do in public indoctrination schools

And the state has no opportunity to indoctrinate them to hate their country, their race, and Christianity.

Because the Compost is a big Democrat disinformation rag that loves the teachers union. Remember, Hillary’s “It Takes A Village”? Its all about GOVERNMENT (Democrat) education. Period.

Home schooled kids are probably smart enough to know the Washington Post is BS.

Why does The Washington Post hate homeschooling?

Because The Wapo is all in for totalitarianism.

Today’s home schooling is not your grandfather’s home schooling. Kids can now learn at home via certified private schools administered online or by mail, where parents control the curriculum and public school bullies cause no problems. Alternately, home schoolers can learn via co-ops taught by parents who are experts in their field.
