For my money the biggest “what happened “ is Sears missing the internet.

I wore Cole Hahn Oxfords or penny loafers when I was still working; but I’ve been retired for several years, so I only trot them out for special occasions. Good shoes.

Think about what you just said, old fart. I believe both routes took us to the same place no business, no employees. Shareholders & the company are worthless to this nation, without jobs & factories.
Pretty soon we will have no nation either. Can you even tell me who drove up wages, bright guy?
You really are not as bright as you believe yourself to be, but keeping trying old fart.

Sears began as a mail order catalog company. If they had returned to that business which Amazon essentially dominated, which is essentially mail order using the internet and computers, Sears would be a major player today

Companies exist to make a profit. They do not exist to provide charity to ne’er-do-wells such as you.

I never took charity. As usual, you are wrong again.

Sneakers. AKA gym shoes. They killed the casual dress shoe market. Especially mens casual dress. With shoes that were comfortable, and usuable for fun, the market for anything like Thom McAn evaporated. If you ain’t wearing a jacket and tie you ain’t wearing anything that resembles a dress shoe.

We watched him every day after school. And there was the boat captain, with a parrot called ‘Fantail’ - can’t recall the name of that show. (Capt. Tugg?)
