First Putin invaded Ukraine and I said nothing because I’m not Ukrainian.
Then Putin invaded Latvia and I said nothing because I’m not Latvian.
Then Putin invaded Alaska and I said nothing because I’m not Alaskan.
Then Putin invaded my state of Kansas, and what could the little state of Kansas do?
If you don’t take all your stuff when you break up with your girl eventually she’s throwing it out.
Estonia should start working on the EU army if they want to fight a war with Russia. NATO needs to be dissolved and replaced with one.
This is the government so many on freerepublic are wanting to hand over to the Russians.
"Russia's borders do not end anywhere."
Estonia doesn’t belong to Russia.
———
Nor does Russia state it does. You are best advised to listen to Tucker Carlsons interview with President Putin, AND carefully listen to President Putin’s speech to the world on the first day of the war…..our corrupted MSM covered none of it.
He has explained his goals very clearly, and has not waivered ( he will accomplish them). He is much like President Trump, gets things done while taking care of his citizens.
If senile old Joe thinks he can destroy Russia, he will end up destroying America - as we are witnessing.
LOL, Eastern Europe is understadably tearing down Soviet/Russian statues while Russia is putting up more statues of Stalin.
Russian memorials to victims of Stalin vanish
Memorials to victims of Stalinist repression in Russia are disappearing or being vandalised amid increasing attempts to rehabilitate the Soviet dictator.
Alexandra Polivanova of civil rights group Memorial believes the damage was ordered or carried out by authorities because Moscow wants the Soviet Union to be perceived as a powerhouse rather than an oppressive state.
"The authorities try to erase the memory of the crimes of that empire to cover up or justify the crimes of this one."
An investigative channel on social media site Telegram called "We can explain" says there are 110 Stalin statues in Russia - 95 erected during President Vladimir Putin's rule and at least four during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

There is no difference between today’s Russia and the USSR. They are the same entity.
I laugh at all the pro-Putin FReepers (aka Peepers) who are quick to claim that Putin now hates communism. Yet, ironically, Russia has a law criminalizing the “desecration of historical memory (i.e., of the Soviet Union and communism),” even by a non-Russian in another country! Sounds like Russia under Putin is no different from islam: Once it appears anywhere, even outside Russia, that country is Russian, regardless what the locals want or believe.
The Russian people deserve better than what Putin and his cronies are dealing them.
Well, it’s not of Marx; it’s of Lenin.
And, yes, I think he might.
Sure, its not a threat from Putin when he starts implying an Estonian town was always Russian. Okay
Putin vaguely threatens the Estonian town of Narva
The Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, has vaguely threatened the Estonian eastern border town of Narva, saying that the Russian czar, Peter the First, didn’t conquer the town but “took it back” from Sweden – even though it had always been an Estonian town; he used the comparison to justify his own plans to invade the neighbours of Russia.

“Estonia was wrong in pulling down the World War II monument.”
Not at all. The four hundred monuments to the USSR in Estonia were placed there by the Soviets as part of their ‘Russification’ efforts and Putin has often cited such monuments as establishing Estonia as Russian territory.
Removing the monuments is part of de-Russification and de-Sovietizing and part of establishing Estonia for Estonia.
If Russia wants to build monuments to the glories of the USSR then do so. But no other country should have to tolerate that crap on their sovereign soil.
Peepers! LOL!
Nice strawman, Igor. The issue is Soviet (communist) statues and plaques, etc. in another country, a country that suffered under the Soviets and communism. It is not about what other countries do in their own countries re: their own statues and plaques, etc.
I tell you, Igor: For a country that claims it is no longer communist and does not revere its Soviet past Russia sure is doing a lot of celebrating both.
Did you know that Putin criminalized discussion of the Soviet Union’s role in the Katyn Forest murders?
FREEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!!
(((PING!)))
Join and laugh!!
Like a liberal, you've confused memorials with statues, and soldiers with politicians.
Same progressive mindset infects this country with regards to Confederate memorials.
Huh? Where did EE Gator say that?
I hate “So…” posts.
There’s a reason I didn’t respond. :)
It’s called an analogy. If Russia can arrest people for doing stuff they don’t like in other countries what’s to stop them from doing it here?
And for the record I never said he’d be okay with it. I asked if it would be okay with him.
