It’s cheaper to eat at Cracker barrel than McDonald’s.

I remember when a double cheeseburger was $1.

Eventually they went to a cheeseburger for $1.

I think I last paid $1.79 for a cheeseburger.

Ct.'s minimum wage went up 69 cents an hour Jan 1. to $15.69.

https://portal.ct.gov/Office-of-the-Governor/News/Press-Releases/2023/09-2023/Governor-Lamont-Announces-Minimum-Wage-Will-Increase-in-January>

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that beginning on January 1, 2024, Connecticut’s minimum wage will increase from the current rate of $15.00 per hour to $15.69 per hour as a result of the state’s first-ever economic indicator adjustment.

"This newly enacted adjustment is required under a state law Governor Lamont signed in 2019 (Public Act 19-4), which implemented five incremental increases in the minimum wage between 2019 and 2023, followed by future adjustments that are tied to the percentage change in the federal employment cost index. Beginning on January 1, 2024, and occurring annually each January 1 thereafter, the state’s minimum wage will be adjusted according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s calculation of the employment cost index for the twelve-month period ending on June 30 of the preceding year. The law requires the commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Labor to review this percentage change and then announce any adjustments by October 15 of each year. The minimum wage adjustments become effective on the next January 1."

average McDonalds salary in CT was 14 bucks an hour.

I have no idea when this was created.

regardless...somebody has to pay for the increase, for which an employer increases fed and state tax remittance and both ends of ss and medicare for each employee brought up to minimum wage. Add that to inflation...Go ahead and scream about it.

69. Gov. LaMont had a key Communist Party propagandist in his family, Prof. Corliss and his wife who often wrote under another name.

He taught at Columbia University and was the chairman of the Philosophy Dept. Also a big wheel in the American Humanist Association.

Came from the LaMont banking family and lent the leftist (John Kerry) Vietnam Veterans Against the War the $1,000 needed for their first contribution ad in Playboy about 1971.

We stopped going out when our cooking skills surpassed that of any local restaurant.
A plus is you don’t have to look at the employees with neck tattoos and bull rings.
Very unappetizing.

My favorite part of that link:

” Guillermo Moreno, Secretary of Commerce in the Kirchner government, reportedly forced McDonald’s to sell the Big Mac at an artificially low price to manipulate the country’s performance on the Big Mac index.”

The moral of the story is that when governments do not like what the numbers say, they will try to cheat.

I think we all know that, but this one is funny.
