The vast majority have no understanding of how vaccines work which is why the grifters and kooks have so much success.
This has been true since the time when Andrew Wakefield and his actress collaborater pushed the “vaccines cause autism” scam years ago. The actress had no reason to know better. Wakefield was an MD, and he got caught faking his data in his bogus study.
If the government hadn’t forced people to take the vaccines this current hysteria wouldn’t have been any more significant than Wakefield’s scam.

I look forward to an exhaustive study of COVID-19 if performed by credible professionals without an anti-vaxxer agenda.
I’ve of two minds:
1. Would we have mandated the vaccines if we knew what we know now about the virus, it’s lethality and infectiveness?
2. Are we making a mistake in comparing the 2020 virus with today’s virus? Has the virus mutated losing it’s lethality and it’s infective abilities?
We relied heavily upon reports out of China. Remember those acounts of crematoriums working 24/7, of people dropping in the streets, thousands of deaths? Were those accounts misinformation or were they true?
It would be helpful if some of our anti-vaxxer fanatics actually read some of the classics of epidemics and vaccines.

Mandating anything is a political decision, so who knows. Vaccines only became available during the last week of December 2020, so we don’t know what Trump would have decided had he remained in office.
Having confidence in vaccines is a far cry from compelling supposedly free people to take them. When polio vaccines became available everybody was eager to take them, there was no compulsion. And IMO there shouldn’t be.
Covid-19 is a SARS virus. “SARS-2”. The only other known SARS outbreak was back in 2002-3. Most people won’t remember it because all of the cases were in China, and there were only about 9,000 of them. But it put a scare in the medical world because SARS killed 9% of those infected. That was the only benchmark available when Covid-19 showed up. There is another cousin virus, MERS, which is even scarier, with a death rate of 30%.

The 2020 virus, the archaic virus, was considerably more dangerous than the Omicron variants circulating now. It was more deep lung than what goes around now. And it was damaging a lot of other organs as well. The contemporary reports are all at PubMed.
All of the 1st generation vaccines targeted the spike protein of the archaic virus. That’s what the immune system was trained to recognize and fight. The CDC published a running tally of variants of concern, and after the vaccines were released you could see the archaic virus dwindling until it finally ceased to circulate.
What continued to go around were variants having spike proteins that differ from the original on the archaic virus. Delta and Omicron. Immune systems trained by the 1st generation vaccines won’t react to it. But the Omicron variants aren’t as lethal, and hospitals aren’t dealing with Omicron patients very often.
SARS is an RNA virus and those mutate easily. There’s a popular idea that viruses always evolve into being less lethal, more transmissible, but there’s no guarantee that that’s going to happen. Mutations are all chance, there’s nothing directing them, and you could end up with something worse.

The first reports I ever heard were on Steve Bannon’s Warroom. Probably the first week of 2020. Bannon had anti-CCP contacts in China, and his information came from them back while the Chinese government was insisting that there was nothing at all happening in Wuhan. The first suspicion that SARS was returning came from a group of doctors comparing notes on a Chinese social media website. The CCP authorities rounded them up and warned them to stop spreading rumors or else they’d get jailed. One of them was the eye doctor who made the very first “is it SARS?” post. He ended up catching it and it killed him.

Very good often overlooked points.
If you examine the history of vaccination, you’ll find there was always a certain group that were in opposition regardless of whether the vaccines were mandated or not.
As I’ve said numerous times their arguments against these covid vaccines are mirror images of the arguments raised against the first small pox innoculations. Just one example, today they claim the vaccines will change your DNA, in the 1700s, the claim was the smallpox vax would turn you into a cow. Same argument.
The one thing new thing we have now is the claim that vaccines are being developed/deployed to reduce the world’s population to a few hundred million.

My all time favorite conspiracy nut theory is the one that claimed that the Covid virus itself doesn’t exist at all. And that all of the “Covid” sickness and death was the result of shots secretly given to us before the pandemic. How that accords with vaccine shots given after “the non-existant virus” was going around is anybody’s guess. In nut world, logic and the arrow of time are irrelevant.
That gem of a theory came from The Daily Expose, at one time the favorite kook site here. It provided great entertainment if you took the time to read their stuff. The Expose-ers were from Britain and I suspect that David Icke may be associated with it. There is nothing too crazy for that guy.

That’s a good one which ranks right up there with the conspiracy nut theory that the vaccines will somehow, beginning four/five years after vaccination, kill everyone who has been vaccinated.
Here’s another good one. Trials are currently ongoing at Guantanamo under the Nuremberg Code of those who developed/mandated the vaccinations. Supposedly will there are thousands of defendents already incarcerated at Guantanamo.
Another one. The unvaccinated are ‘pure blood’ and their blood will be worth thousands when millions begin to die from the vaccines. In parallel is that sperm from the pure bloods will be equally valuable. I wonder if these ‘pure bloods’ realize the Nazi/Aryan origns of that term? Goebels would be so proud of them.
A question has always been is this: why would hundreds of thousands of health care professionals been party to a conspiracy to inflict a deadly vaccine upon their fellow citizens?
