Uber Eats is a service that connects you to a contractor. The contractor may at any point decide they do not want to work for you. That ends their obligation to you and yours to them. It is that simple.

But I am quite sure that if the reason for denial of service was due to the customer being part of the protected class then such could be prosecuted as Jack Phillips (Masterpiece bakery) was and is for years.

Of course, including a class of persons thus protected on the basis of how they feel and act, versus non-moral aspects such as race, color, ethnicity, nat'l origin, and or being part of a recognized religion (which loses when the conflict it btwn the two), was unprecedented, and opens the door for inclusion of other classes based upon feelings and behavior.

Maybe the Uber driver can claim that his opposition to contraception was due to him/her being "born again" that way...

There are people who are who are pro-life that are not religious. Do they say people who are against the death penalty are religious? Secular Pro-Life(Orgabization.) How many atheists are pro-life?

Only a very small minority of atheists oppose abortion, and homosexual fornication.

Some woman was going to get laid, and wanted some last-minute contraceptive so she wouldn’t get pregnant. She called Uber Eats to have the driver deliver her anti-knock-up pill. But the Uber Eats driver decided that was just too gross and declined the job.

Now she’s got her panties in a wad. We don’t know if she got laid or not.

I noticed a trend on the internet in last few years as is shown in the text in post #5 of putting the dollar sign after the amount like this: 17$ instead of the correct $17. How did this start?

Same reason they incorrectly punctuate end-of-sentence apostrophes as...

"xxxxx".

instead of doing it correctly as...

"xxxxx."

Obviously, they were not taught proper grammar and punctuation by Dominican nuns. 🀑

I am sure that is the narrative they want to go with.

But even the SCOTUS does not see it that way. Which is why Jack Phillips won his case.

As a contractor (which he was) you are in an entire different class then a vendor.

I currently act as both vendor and contractor. I sell books, games and other media. You may come into my store and select any thing off the shelf you want and, providing you have the money and are an adult, I will sell it to you.

However I also take contracts to find things. I have customers who want to hunt down signed copies, unrevised copies, first editions and so forth. I will consider what you want and tell you, yes or no. I do not have to take your commission. I can refuse it for any number of reasons and I do not have to explain.

Not all women.

Women are also history’s greatest life givers by the same token.

They like to call it emergency contraception to blur what contraception is.

It’s to keep the fertilized ovum from
Implanting in the uterine wall. The child is already conceived. This it is a chemical abortion of the youngest among us.

Of course they don’t know whether this conception occurred. They just know that they did not properly use birth control so are afraid they might have conceived.

I smell lawyers.

Yeah, and those lawyers are likely to find themselves unwillingly placing orders for ham sandwiches to synagogues and mosques.

“Abortion serves overgrown boys more than anyone else.”

Serves?

WTF are you talking about?

It’s overwhelmingly single women, SINGLE WOMEN, who choose abortion.

In fact it’s always the woman who chooses to murder the baby. The days of forced abortions are over 100-years ago! One-hundred years!

What a delusional and deceitful premise.

You do understand that regular hormonal birth control pills work exactly the same way right?....right?

Plan B is the same hormone that most birth control pills use but in a much larger dose so it immediately kicks off a period cycle and shedding of the uterine wall. The yellow or green pills in every pack of birth control is the plan B hormone identical in chemicals and function.

Hormonal birth control does not stop conception never has never will. It only prevents implantation due to suppressing the pregnancy hormone and thenough induces a period cycle this is how every hormonal birth control pills since the 1950s have worked.

You don’t even need plan B if you already have a pack of hormonal birth control pills. Why would you need plan B if she forgot to take a pill one day or left them at home while away for a weekend. <<< this happens to married people this one included more times than people think when packing in a hurry.

Take all 5 of the yellow or green pills at once it is then the same dose as a plan B pill pack the woman will immediately cycle into a period and ensure no pregnancy. My wife has done this at her OBGYN instructions when we went to Vegas and she forgot her pills at home rather than just get a whole new prescription in Vegas her Dr said when you get home take all 5 green ones and you will be fine enjoy Vegas. The white pills do nothing to stop conception they only keep the egg from implantation and a placental development cycle from starting this is basic high school level biology.

I am sure that is the narrative they want to go with. But even the SCOTUS does not see it that way. Which is why Jack Phillips won his case

No, Jack Phillips did win any case because SCOTUS does not see it "that way," that this feelings-based protected status is valid, and overrules religion objection.

The issue in Masterpiece Cakeshop: Is a business’s freedom to choose its customers more important than the government interest in stopping sexual orientation discrimination? The Supreme Court did not answer this question, but instead decided the case on narrower grounds by concluding that members of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission expressed impermissible hostility to religion.
Interestingly, the Court had the chance to take such a case after its decision in Masterpiece Cakeshop that involved a florist who refused to make flower arrangements for a same-sex wedding, but the Court remanded the case in light of Masterpiece Cakeshop. In Arlene’s Flowers v. Washington, the Washington State Supreme Court came to the same conclusion as the Colorado Civil Rights Commission and the Colorado Court of Appeals.- https://www.americanbar.org/groups/crsj/publications/human_rights_magazine_home/the-ongoing-challenge-to-define-free-speech/not-a-masterpiece/ (source itself shows bias)

Meaning, SCOTUS basically said that the attitude of the prosecution was biased, not that the merits of the case was wrong.

Yet if there was any case in which religious exemption would allow refusal to be complicit in celebrating a homosexual union then this was it. For Masterpiece was indeed asked to be complicit (by contracting to create a special cake) in the celebration of an immoral (God's law) and illegal (state law, the CO constitutions at the time) and was and is being punished for refusal to do so.

However, since SCOTUS (via 5-4 vote) wickedly criminalized the refusal to recognize homosex unions, then it finds itself in a quandary when faced with a business which refuses to provide something for that express purpose. Everyone business must make the bed for them.

I also take contracts to find things. I have customers who want to hunt down signed copies, unrevised copies, first editions and so forth. I will consider what you want and tell you, yes or no. I do not have to take your commission. I can refuse it for any number of reasons and I do not have to explain.

But you cannot refuse to provide a service offered to others if refusal is based upon protected status aspects. At least if you are a Christian. If that Uber driver refused to provide transportation service to a homosexual wedding then he would be in as much trouble or more than if he refused to provide service to a BLM rally.

If it is a commission I for sure can.

I am not obliged to work for you if I do not want to.

And I am not going to tell someone why I do not want to accept a commission. That is my own business. Maybe I find your whistle breathing annoying. Maybe you remind me of the bimbo who used to tease me in high school ago. Maybe I do not approve of your boinking every thing you can get to hold still. Or maybe I do not have the time.

It is none of your business why, all you need to know is I either accept or do not accept.

People get themselves in a lot of trouble by trying to get other people to agree with them. So they spend a lot of time explaining. I don't.
