Going to a city where a festival was held he was overcome by the clash of cymbals, wine, music, the smell of blood. In a religious frenzy he would suddenly grab a knife, cut off his body parts, dance naked and bloody through the city holding the cut off parts, throw them down on a doorstep. The person in the house would then bring out a woman’s clothing for him to wear.
