This is not going to happen, Patel will never get confirmed by Congress.

Technically, it’s more accurate to state that DS won’t permit Congress to confirm him, even if a majority is held against dems in both Senate & House.

Not confirmed? Then it starts with Larry Hogan in the senate. Think about it.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
He’ll be a recess appointment and then replaced by another who thinks like him. Trump will have to do this for every Administration post as the Senate will refuse to confirm anyone to the right of Christopher Wray.

Was Obama confirmed by Congress?
Think outside the box.

The only way a fearless bulldog like Patel could get confirmed by the Senate is if "America First" candidates have a very good night on November 5. Not outside the realm of possibility.
Otherwise, at best, we might get another cowardly quisling like Sessions.

Was Obama confirmed by Congress? Elected presidents don't get confirmed by Congress.
To: logi_cal869
Maybe but I figure him for FBI or CIA.

If I remember correctly McConnell kept the Senate officially in session for the entire Trump presidency to prevent a recess appointment.
It was complete BS, but Trump never challenged it.
To: logi_cal869
Wait a minute. Another Patel? A deadbeat?

It’s irrelevant who President Trump would like to be AG. The senate won’t allow anyone to pass their vote who they don’t like. That was DJT’s problem with all his other AGs. No telling who he really wanted, McConnell told him by back-channel who was DOA. I don’t foresee the Senate being republican led, and even if it is, I don’t foresee a real conservative being the Repub majority leader.

Its not about simply putting one’s man at the top of that bloated organization. If that’s what Trump is thinking, it will be a failure.
Its about dismantling it and reducing its size by 80%
