I've prayed for your comfort and guidance from our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am very glad you value us FReepers so much and I'm glad some here were able to help you bear this load. Saying that, there is no substitution for actual human contact, as I'm sure you know. My question is, do you have a church or other support network where you can talk face-to-face with someone? I very much hope the answer is yes.
God bless you and may the Love of Christ flow your cup over with faith and love, my new friend.
BTW, you are not alone in your sufferings. In the past two years I have lost my family (girls 5 and 3 and wife) through divorce, lost my job, had to file bankruptcy and had my 30 year old sister suffocate to death over 9 months as her lungs destroyed themselves. Now our pastor says he is leaving our church after we have been looking for an assoc. pastor for 6 months, unsucessfully. I am not confident this year will be too much better than last. I expect to loose my Grandmother this year, and my house.
What I am sure of is that Christ will walk with me through the shadows of the valley and will lead me to His River of Joy. My brothers and sister's in Christ, and here on Free Republic, are a continual source of encouragement. Thank you FReepers.

Dear Fiddlstix - I am so sorry to hear of the great burden that you bear. It seems as though our Dear Lord is showing you just how strong you really are.
I hope you will find comfort in the fact that you will be in many FReepers' prayers. I will ask our merciful Father to continue to give you the strength that you need and also that He will heal your hurt.

Doggone it, I just shed some tears in sympathy with you and the pain you're experiencing.
But you're a Freeper..... made of the same stern stuff our FR family and brave troops are. You're enveloped by a host of loving, caring folks who will stand by your side.

Please accept my "virtual hug", Fiddlstix.
I'm glad you shared your burden with us - by sharing it, you have allowed us to know your troubles so that we can pray for you and share the load.
I don't know you, but since we are both Freepers, you are obviously someone I could call friend!
Take care-

Mother's Arms
January 15, 2001
As a baby feeling so mistreated,
I found comfort in Mother's arms.
When there was lightening and thunder,
I found comfort in Mother's arms.
Scared to death on the first day of school,
I found comfort in Mother's arms.
Even when she scolded and corrected me,
I found comfort in Mother's arms.
As a teenager facing rejection,
I found comfort in Mother's arms.
On to college and the Marine Corp.
I longed for Mother's arms.
I moved away and married,
yet longed for Mother's arms.
Now as a parent and grandparent,
I still long for Mother's arms.
Today, we celebrate the birth of Martin Luther King Jr. and I mourn the passing of my Mom. Gertrude Smith Meadows...the One And Only!
Mother passed away this morning in Ft. Worth, TX. at the age of 88. She was a tough old bird that told you exactly what was on her mind. She had an excellent sense of humor and loved to laugh. "I can still whip you with one arm tied behind me", she'd say with that beautiful smile. I'd hug her and say, "I know you can Mom."
I expect her first question to God will be, "Where's Paul?" ...My Dad and Hero.
When I reach Heaven, I hope God has instant replay, so I can experience the reunion Mom and Dad had this morning.
How I Long For Mother's Arms...

Friend, thanks so much for "This Old House".....one of my earliest childhood memories, which I just enjoyed reliving.
I lost my brother at 41 years of age & I know the pain.
God will help you.
To: Fiddlstix
I am very sorry to hear of your losses. God's strength to you.
And I'm glad your not leaving!!
To: Fiddlstix; MeeknMing
Dear Fiddlstix, you've been really knocked sideways. I know the feeling, in the last 4 years I have lost both of my parents, two uncles, an aunt, and a beloved sister-in-law, all from cancer or heart problems, one after another.
You get used to being a pall bearer, picking out coffins at the funeral homes, you just blindly do what you have to.
Later something funny may happen and you'll think, "I've gotta tell 'em" - and then you remember you can't anymore.
It hurts, but time gradually makes the pain more bearable. It your parents died with lingering illnesses, you are especially wrung out, and the loss of your beloved younger brother is terrible.
Coming on Free Republic helped me a great deal, it got my mind off depression. There's a lot of funny people around and it's good to divert your mind from your grief. Grief takes time to heal.
May God bless, sustain, and carry you through this awful time. Don't be a stranger, you have friends that care.

Your pain is familiar, my parents and one sister preceding me to be with Him.
You are so right about your family here at Free Republic caring about your well-being and supporting you.
Even the quietest and briefest of prayers are carried to God on golden notes and heard!
Immerse yourself in the love and support we offer, as we ask the Holy Spirit to surround you with calm and peace.
In time, the pain will lessen, and you will have all those sweet and wonderful memories of what they gave you throughout your life; and you will be able to pour out upon others that love you felt from them.
The River of Life is a flowing thing, all waters eventually returning to Him!
In the whirlpools and eddies like you have experienced, He always has His hand extended to lift you out of them.....may His love always shine down on you.
