That's so funny...that is EXACTLY the cartoon I thought of the day Finbar jumped into the dryer as I was doing laundry.

I'm a longtime "Far Side" fan...

I'm gonna get cat fur all over your clothes anyway...let me just go ahead and do it now before they come out of the dryer. Saves time.

My Phoebe adores socks, any socks. She grabs them with her front paws, kicks at them with her back paws, and rolls around the floor. My other cats don't do this. Is it normal kitty behavior, or is Phoebe a little daft?

Finbar likes to steal them and run off with them. Somewhere, I have a couple of pictures of him attacking and killing evil socks.

One of these days I'll have to figure out how to put a picture on my post so I can share my kitty pics. My four guys have had some priceless moments!

Could be worse. My Cormac used to steal my husband's socks, soak them in his water dish until they were NICE and chewy, then gnaw huge holes in them.

It was pretty disgusting to get out of bed in the middle of the night and step on a nice wet clammy sock . . . and my husband was always alarmed when he pulled on a sock and it went right up over his knee as his foot went through the hole . . .

. . . but, on the other hand, it did teach my husband to pick up his socks and put them in the laundry hamper, something I was never able to achieve with less drastic methods. Dear Cormac went to that great catnip bed in the sky some 10 years ago, but the lesson "took." :-D

LOL! I keep hoping the cat hair all over my husband's clothes will encourage him to hang things up, but so far no luck. But it's early yet!:-)

What difference would hanging them up make? << g >>

My cats like to jump up in the closet and walk back and forth across the shoulders of the clothes. The little one swings from sleeves like Tarzan.

Most of our clothes look like collections of knitting mistakes. I keep the good ones zipped up in bags . . .

LOL!! Grizzfan, that catnip pic reminds me of a funny story about our cat. This was when I was in high school.

Our cat was an indoor cat. I had recently learned how much fun I could have giving her a pinch of catnip and then watching her antics. So I had this small cardboard box that contained a plastic envelope full of catnip. It had been opened, and then I had rolled the plastic shut when I put the catnip back on my dresser.

I came home from school. No one else was home (except, of course, the cat.) I called the cat, but she didn't come. I started walking around the house looking for her. I didn't find her, but I did find the catnip box lying on the floor. There was a slight trail of catnip leading from it... I followed the trail, which led me to the plastic bag, which was open on the floor. I thought, "Oh no! Kitty's OD'd on catnip! Can they OD on catnip??!" I finally looked under the living room sofa. The room was carpeted. Staring out from under the sofa at me were these two glowing, enormous, eyes.

I called her, but she wouldn't come out! Finally I reached under there to pull her out, but her claws were dug way into the carpet, so she was rooted there. She'd just had way too much fun getting into the catnip. Well, after a couple hours she came out, finally! After that I always locked the catnip up.

There's an oxymoron for ya..."normal kitty behaviour" ;-)

Mine will grab one, start meowing her head off while walking with it, and lay it down near me when she finds me. Think she's nagging me to put away my laundry.
