Speaking of catnip I remember a film short that was on Saturday Night Live (back when it didn't SUCK) about a guy and his cat. They guy was getting his cat high on catnip and IMHO when the camera was off he was doing some of his own nip if you know what I mean. Essentially what you had at the end of the clip was two very stoned mammals.
I guess you had to be there but if you are a cat person you would find it interesting.

. . but, on the other hand, it did teach my husband to pick up his socks and put them in the laundry hamper, something I was never able to achieve with less drastic methods. ROFL! And to think there are people who say cats are "worthless." This is a pretty valuable asset in my opinion. :-)

Somewhere (this was LONG before digital cameras or online photo links, Cormac was kittened in 1978) I have a photograph of him
flagrante delicto, with a black Gold Cup sock dangling from his slavering jaws.
He also had the interesting habit, while still a svelte young show cat, of leaping to the top of doors in the house and lurking there, hind feet braced against the back of the door. When folks walked underneath, he would DROP on them. Thankfully in his later years when retired from the ring he was too heavy to make the jump to the top of the doors -- although he could still make it to the top of our bedroom door by leaping from the bureau. I used to lock him up when elderly relatives came to visit -
(and how do you know this loony feline was a Siamese? Well, you just know . . . ) :-D

LOL... yes, you have a point. There's absolutely nothing "normal" about any one of my four, they're all loony in their own ways. Phoebe just seems to be a little more "touched" than the other three.

LOL!! (Currently I own a dog, but don't have a cat right now. Shhh!)
I HOPE that wasn't TOONCES who was getting funny on that stuff!! Toonces was a role model of sorts, after all!

Is it normal kitty behavior, or is Phoebe a little daft? She is, like all cats, daft.
I have (ahem) 14 of the little beasts. They open drawers to get at socks and more intimate items, which they drag all over the house. They have learned to turn off lights. Last night, at 4 a.m., they demonstrated that they can also turn on lights. Lucky for them, their cuteness outweighs their mischievousness.

Fourteen?! My husband would revolt, he can barely live with four. He tell me all the time how much he hates them, as he scratches their ears and rubs their fur and spins them around on the hardwood floor. Yeah, right.
Tigger hasn't figured out the light, but she does turn my radio on in the middle of the night. Shortest distance to the window sill appears to be via my nightstand. Or my head.
