This law is unconstitutional. There is no constitutional requirement for an elected federal office holder to disclose any financial information.
Republicans have time to close this statute, especially since Democrats are openly talking about using it against their political enemies.
No matter what they find, if anything, the political benefit to them by embarrassing Trump will be far outweighed by the political cost of again revealing themselves to be bitter, petty, poor losers who have nothing of value to offer as an alternative, and so must hunt down nonsense like this rather than having any kind of substantive policy debates.
I see a bunch of IRS audits coming their way. Dems need to remember who runs the IRS.
A nearly 100-year old statute allows the chairmen of Congress tax committees to look at anyones returns.
Including Obamas ?
Somehow, before the election, they never used this 100 year old statute to review then Presidential candidate Trump’s tax returns
