Soong Mei-ling was on a postage stamp in mainland China, I'm pretty sure. For some reason she isn't hated in China like her husband was and is.

I would love to read up on the whole Soong family. Charlie Soong's conversion to Christianity is fascinating from what I've heard. On the way back to China after his graduation, I think he tossed his diploma overboard.

There's a great book which written in the eighties called "The Soong Dynasty" written by Sterling Seagraves. I am sure you can get it through Amazon, I highly recommend it.

The Soongs were a fascinating family, one of the other sisters was married to Sun Yat Sen. I am sure very few people knew that Madame Chiang Kai-shek (Soong Mei-ling)was still alive and living in New York City. She was a True Warrior.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) -- Madame Chiang Kai-shek, the widow of the Nationalist Chinese president who used her charm and fluent English to lobby Washington and become a driving force in Taiwan's Nationalist government, died Thursday in New York. She was 106.

She died in the evening at her apartment in Manhattan, according to Andrew Hsia, director-general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York. Her niece, her niece's husband and a great-grandson were with her at the time, he said.

She was 105 and they're looking for the cause of death? How about old age?

Maybe the obit writers have to express their sense of humor somehow. Fighting communist filth apparently allowed madame to live a long life. How it must have hurt her when we broke off relations with the free Chinese on Taiwan. Someday soon the police state Red Chinese will wake up one day and "liberate" all of the western factories exploiting virtual slave labor. Only then will people understand they'd have been better off investing in free Taiwan than a murderous police state a few miles away.
