I'll take 4 more years of gridlock over electing another spineless, His-pandering RINO any day.

At one time Bush and the open borders crew were talking about all the prosperity that illegals bring. Just doing a job that an American won't do.
Where is this prosperity? Where is the beef? This is the first time and only time that the words, ILLEGAL ALIENS, have appeared in a Medicare Bill. The prosperity is taken out of Americans paychecks and given to illegals.

Over half of the construction workers in Las Vegas are illegals. Almost all of the hotel maids are illegal. If you ship just 25% of them back to Mexico, America's fastest growing city would shut down overnight. The prosperity of Las Vegas depends on the illegals.

What is it these slimey politicians don't understand about the word NO! Americans have been saying it and saying it...This to me is what it boils down to. We have said "no," loud and clear, over and over and over again. What our so-called "leaders" are saying is, "Tough. We know better than you. It doesn't matter what you want. WE want to flood the country with illegals, and for you to pay for it. Get used to it." In my mind, only one thing really matters: The American people do not want this!

You don't think those illegals could be replaced with legal immigrants coming from poor countries? Why should Mexicans get first choice? Isn't that racist?

The only time this President isn't a duplicitous coward on Illegals, is when he's an open appeaser. Bump for raw truth.

The prosperity of Las Vegas depends on gamblers. If you recall, after 9/11 Las Vegas was hurting. It was not because they didn't have plenty of illegals, it was because Americans wouldn't fly. The hotel maids were laid off. People were out of work in Las Vegas. There were many articles about this.

Illegal aliens have pushed tax-paying Americans out of those jobs in Las Vegas.
Those same tax-paying Americans will take those jobs back, when the illegals are kicked out.

I don't think it can be escaped that Bush will not represent the will of the majority in the issue of illegal immigration.
No one on the GOP side will.
I've said before, if a Dem candidate convinced me he would enforce our generous immigration laws, I'd vote for him, and the last Dem I voted for was a sheriff in Texas in the mid-eighties.
I'd vote for a Demo on this issue, even if he was FRENCH.
And if there's one issue that would make me disgusted enough to stay home on election day, this is it.

It's a fact that with a Democrat President and a Republican Congress we had less illegal immigration and our National Guard was assisting the Border Patrol on the borders.
The Republican Congress knew who the enemy was when Clinton was in office and they fought him the whole way. They're just rolling over for this RINO, now.
I vote for a return to gridlock, if we can't elect anything other than another RINO.

Yes of course, but remember these people have turned the word "technology" into a cliche while all the while pursuing a sweatshop immigration policy. They blabber on and on about deflation yet pursue a policy that deflates wages in all sectors of the economy.

"In fact, it borders on pandering". No dear, it borkers on treason and sedition when politicians are willing to artificially manipulate the direction of the nation away from a Constitutional Republic via an illegal invasion voting bloc. That includes El Bush who spits on our sovereignty and national security every day that he is a willing accomplice to this invasion.
The definition of "Conservative Compassion" evidently, is a willingness to sacrifice one's fellow citizens on the altar of open borders Free Trade. D.C. needs to get the message that American compassion does not extend to the point of self extinction. Some things are not for sale or trade.
To: MissAmericanPie
I wonder if it has ever occurred to the Dems that immigration control might just be the biggest GOP-splitting issue.
The Dems are mostly lawyers, teachers' unions, Hollywood and effete millionaires. What would they have to lose in supporting enforcement of our immigration laws?
It's a union issue, after all, and a farmer's issue.
Now, wouldn't that be something, if Rove/Svengali overplayed his hand in this one?

Well said "MAP"......Forget the economics........its the culture the illegals bring with them.............Mexico has an abundance of natural resources.....yet it is still a third world country....and the USA will be too if the "invasion" is allowed to continue.
To: sixmil
For someone who thinks of himself as a straight-shooter, President Bush sure gets mealy-mouthed when the subject turns to illegal immigration. Got to disagree with this editorial, Bush has been a straight-shooter with respect to immigration.
Even before he was elected he talked about matching up "willing employees with employers", or about family values not stopping at the Rio Bravo, so his Wall St. Journal philosophy of open borders and not enforcing the laws as president has been consistent with what he has been saying all along.
To: gubamyster
Let me also clarify something: This administration is firmly against blanket amnesty.
Once again, boys and girls, it's time for the Republican Leadership Song!
(To the tune of the theme from Bonanza!)
Dum da da dum, da da dum, da da dum, da da dum, BOHICA!
Dum da da dum, da da dum, da da dum, da da dum,
Spread your butt cheeks wide!
