I am so thrilled to see that Las Vegas is profiting so well from illegal alien labor. Now try looking 500 miles southeast where most of these people began their journey.
We don't get that sort of benefit here on the border in Cochise County. The illegals pass through here as fast as they can scamper, leaving destruction in their wake.
How many times should a local resident have to repair vandalism to his property or have his house broken into or his vehicle stolen? How do you rationalize the fact that our national park lands here are no longer safe for use by American citizens, not to mention trashed out?
How long should the locals give up their free time on behalf of the hotel and construction industries in order to clean up the millions of pounds of trash and human waste left by the illegals? It ain't in dumpsters or porta-potties, it's all over our landscape.
Got a strong stomach? Try www.desertvisions.us -- some of my friends put together a few slideshows starring the trash piles.

Hi JackelopeBreeder
I don't know if you saw
"this thread" about the Barnett's. Seems I remember a thread where you mentioned you are their neighbor. Do you know if they've set up any form of fund to help pay legal costs in their lawsuit? I know freepers would get on board with helping them out if they do.
To: Klickitat
Not quite neighbor, but friend.
Roger thinks chances are good this will never see the inside of a courtroom. It doesn't pass the laugh test. A lot of the real facts in this story haven't made it into the press yet.
It should end up with BAN and MacKenzie wearing a large amount of egg on their faces.

Even more disgusting is the refusal, repeatedly, in the border areas, to allow those most effected, the borderline ranchers and landowners, to take meaningful steps to protect themselves and their property, in the name of "leaving it to the professionals," an attitude, fortunately, that developed after our founding.

I want Bush sent back to Texas or Kinnebunkport or wherever these people come from. So do I. He's not a conservative like he claimed, so it doesn't seem to matter who will be sitting in the White House, the result will be the same. Many voters will probably be sitting the election in '04 out due to disgust.
To: Mamzelle
Can you name any Dem who has taken a strong stand against illegal immigration and proposed meaningful steps to stop it? Tancredo is not a Dem.

Any time a politician tells you he's against "blanket Amnesty," he's lying about the Amnesty he's really pushing. Yep, it's akin to a pol telling you he's against "blanket disarmament" or "blanket tax increases."

You're right, the only pols (that I know of) who've taken strong stances against illegal immigration have been Pubblies. But unfortunately, they're rare birds.

As long as corporations fill the GOP coffers with the express purpose of bribing pols into keeping the illegal immigration express a-comin', there's little chance anything will change. And add to that their desire to attract new voters to their party their anti-American "one-world" tendencies in general, and the only thing I can envision that'll set things straight is a popular revolt.

Tancredo is one lone GOP congressman, with very little cout and is not supported by the party in his efforts to enforce our immigrations laws.
But, I didn't mention Tancredo...? Perhaps you intended your post at another poster?

Hmmm, this was in Investors Business Daily?
Does the CATO Institute know about this?
To: sixmil
It is not an economic problem. However, it is a problem that is political, social and biological.

At one time Bush and the open borders crew were talking about all the prosperity that illegals bring. Just doing a job that an American won't do.
Where is this prosperity? >>>>>>
LOL........It sure AIN'T in CA, which houses & SUPPORTS, our largest ILLEGAL population.

I know the border probably as well as anyone. If you think that the illegals are going to stop, you are dead wrong. This is a powerfully driven trend and it will continue until something more powerful stops it. You can pizz and moan or you can deal with reality.
There will never be a Great Wall. There will never be minefields or freefire zones on the border. What we can do is toughen citizenship requirements. We can cut and restrict the welfare state. We can establish legitimate channels for the free flow of labor back and forth across the border. Anything more is pizzing in the wind.
Have you ever seen a venue after a concert or any large gathering (especially an Earth Day Rally)? Trash cans are ten feet away and garbage is heaped on the ground. Have you been to Roosevelt Lake after a summer weekend? Give these people a controlled way to cross and you can control them.
Take a hike in the National Forests in Northern California and you are risking your life. Stumble into one of the thousands of grow sites and you may never be heard from again. The same is true to a lesser degree on the Coronado or the Tonto.

It is obvious that when $1 billion was put in the Medicare Bill, There AIN'T NO prosperity will illegal aliens.
It looks like we are getting the same ole song but a different verse with Bush.

Funny, we have BILLIONS for medical, education, etc......but 'NEVER enough money' to secure the borders.
It looks like we are getting the same ole song but a different verse with Bush.>>>>>
His verse is even WORSE. He should have closed our borders 9-12-01, they should have remained closed until ALL imm. *problems* were addressed.
He instead, tried to *sneak* thru ANOTHER *new deadline* on the mini 245(i) amnesties, just SIX months after 9-11.
He's against 'blanket amnesties' but looks like he's also against DEPORTATION, and enforcing ALL of our laws.

[ The Dems are mostly lawyers, teachers' unions, Hollywood and effete millionaires. What would they have to lose in supporting enforcement of our immigration laws? ]
Both *35 and *36 were good posts BUT...
You're over looking I think that both demos and pubbies are aborting their next generation BUT democrats are IMPORTING theirs... illegals and legals are wholly unaware of what is at stake in american politics.. to them the ONLY thing meaningful is "what do I GET" out of elections just like in their own countrys.
Don't look good long term for any conservative party.. no matter the name it goes under. I don't like it but that is exactely whats goin on here.. After the election if Bush does nothing (with nothing to lose) about the illegals he will be just as much a traitor as both CLINTONS ARE after all, hes from Texas and knows exactely all I just said... and not fixing it he will be complicent in the down grading of america not any LESS than the Clintons... but worse as a stealth democrat a MOLE... acting like a conservative...
