We need a Republican president and congress to put an end to this sort of stuff.

What will they do to people like me who CAN create little things like explosives, poison gases, napalm, etc all from household items?
The worst part (HORRORS!) I live across the street from an elementary school - and I own guns! and have 2 American Staffordshire Terriers (aka Pit Bulls) the larger is 115 lbs, the small one is only 85.
I kinda like that "old guy's" saying ....
"FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!"

The monster rockets some private citizens are building now The Discovery Channel had a couple shows about them on a few weeks ago. I was quite impressed with the group building their own I think it was an "O" class motor. :)

"...like everything they touch, it looks like model rocketry will be destroyed..."
We reloaders and the muzzleloading fraternity are now feeling the heat. Black powder, a prereq for flintlocks (the $hit7 synthetics don't work in a rocklock) is fast disappearing from shelves. Dealers must have an explosives license, and if they get one, their insurance costs go off the chart. (instead of a few 1 pound cans of 3F, insurance companies assume, tons of C-4 and 60% dynamite blowing up a city block)
Same for smokeless powder and primers for reloading, the Ninja lads have them in their sights as tools of terrorists, same for rifle scopes.
What next, remotes for garage door openers and model cars? (used for setting off bombs remotely) In many little ways, everyday our way of life and freedoms are dying from a thousand cuts.

I know of some remote land in a western state that has a LOT of this stuff!
Perhaps I'd better gather a large amount for my "rock" collection....

I think I caught that show myself. It is amazing how far the hobby has evolved. It is the American way for sure : build it bigger , faster , stronger, and better ..... until the government comes in and shuts you down.

It's good for blades and points too. Since they're going to be after knives, forks and other pointy objects that would be a good thing. I doubt the govm't approved rubber chopsticks will be useful. They really would like to send us all back to the stone age.

But it's all in the name of "national security" - at least that's what Big Brother tells us.

My hobby was model rocketry as well and I still have some of the Cat 5 difficulty beauties I labored on for hours. Now I'm waiting for RC aircraft to be banned.

Well, peaceful citizens practicing a hobby are less likely to kill you than are drug gangs when you bother them. Therefore the BATFags make the obvious choice and hassle rocketeers.
The purpose of a bureaucracy is to employ bureaucrats. Prevention of terrorism is not the goal of these people, from that Mineta moron right down to the GS whatever clerks shuffling the paperwork. What this bunch is doing is exersizing their power for the agrandizement of the various arseholes in command of this bunch of thugs.

We need a Republican president and congress to put an end to this sort of stuff. Yes. Republicans are MUCH more respectful of the Constitution than Democrats. MUCH more. Really. Just ask John Ashcroft (but don't ask any really hard questions).

Even the father of all murdering tyrants, Joseph Stalin let Kytushin play with his rockets.
So have we gone past Stalin?
We're closing in on him at any rate.

It is everyone's duty to denounce the agents of these agencies in the communities where they live. Make their lives unlivable. Drive them out. Cost them their marriages. When the cost of being a goon rises to unsustainable levels, we will begin to be more free again.

That's why you do it on the QT: Rumors sbout the wife. Make sure the kids at school know who the narc's kid is. Make sure the plumber is always too busy to fix the broken toilet, etc. "Special" prices from local tradesmen. Wear them down.
Communism fell in part because the people were wearing it down from inside - often it was even the people inside the security apparatus. We need to do the same to our thugs.
