Put words in your mouth? I quoted your post #29 directly.
I'll say right now that Shalit either attended a very unusual school or she made up the anecdote to spice up her book. I'm the same age she is and grew up in the state known for the most liberal sex education curriculum--New Jersey--and we were not taught anything until the puberty filmstrips in fourth grade. If you think this sort of thing is going on around the country on a widespread basis, or even occasionally, you need to find something more recent than a quote about twenty years ago from someone's book. Shalit's a self-promoter.
There's not a second-grade teacher in this country who would ask her kids about "69" nor an administrator who would choose that curriculum and set herself up for the horde of angry parents that would have her scalp on a string.

Wasn't he exposed by a "loudmouth" guy on a school board in Queens who had just about enough of the homosexual agenda and didn't want it in Queen's schools?
It was downhill all the way for Fernandez after that.

Massachusetts.

That sounds like Frank Borzellieri. I recall, however, that that school board had a crusty old (Irish?) Catholic lady as its chairwoman. Mary Something, I believe. It wasn't a one-man show.

Anywhere there are people who don't use their brains. Massachusetts beats FR, hands down. With the exception of some threads...
