I used to like NY Press when it was owned and run by Russ Smith (Mugger). Now, however, it has predictably devolved into just another hate-filled, cynical, wiseass "attitude" publication. Everybody and everything sucks, man.
They'll be out of business shortly.

Because either she wouldn't allow herself to be seen in such a dirty city unless it was a pre-planned photo-op, or she's frightened the people there would boo, hiss, and spit on her.

With his gold digging envirowacko wife who he implanted as a Center Director at the Hack'n snack med center . . . From what I understand, Mr. and Mrs. Imus financed a huge chunk of the pediatric wing of that hospital (Crackensack Medical Center). If that's the case, then he could have named Osama bin Laden director for all I care.
On a separate note, I can't imagine how George Steinbrenner didn't make this list -- if only for the sake of tradition in New York City.

This one should be tatooed on every Maitre'D's outstrected palm:
Michael Flocker, the very self-satisfied author of The Metrosexual Guide to Style. Giving in to a "lifelong urge to tell people how to live and behave," Flocker became the first person on Earth to formally codify the disgusting ethos of the self-hating, self-castrating consumerist vanity craze known as metrosexuality, in which men frantically unload their disposable incomes to become high-octane transvestites.

I think that Chuck "the Schmuck" Schumer should be #1 on this list.

The draft version had Hillary in number 1, but the author woke up with a horse's head in his bed and put Rudi in that slot instead. More likely he woke up with a photocopy of his FBI file next to him.

Wasn't Bruce Ratner (#49) the guy who came up with the misbegotten idea of commissioning a revisionist statue of the three firefighters raising the flag at Ground Zero.
I think he's also Ellen Ratner brother.

(Never Forget - And Never Again)
Lots of inside Manhattan stuff, but generally I got a good chuckle. The Joan Rivers and SJP ones were especially delightful.
I never got the SJP thing. I mean, whiney, catty, slutty...the type of girl that you would take home for fifteen minutes and then show her to door.

This stuff is vicious.
Bill O'Reilly once described NYC as the Balkans: Everyone has an agenda, and all these agendas are incompatible with one another.
One day, Manhattanites will take up arms against each other. It will be a merciful act of self cancellation.
And America will rejoice.

Thanks for the ping! :) These 2 are probably my favorites:

Kevin Brown
Yankees Pitcher
THIS SURLY REDNECK gives the term "clubhouse cancer" a new name. Now the 39-year-old right-hander gets to wear pinstripes, bad back and all. Brown, who'll certainly be on the disabled list by the first day of summer, duped the Dodgers in 1998 into giving him baseball's first $100 million contract. He also had the team pay for 12 private jet trips for his family to fly from his hometown of Macon, GA to select games, plus ground transportation and eight premium season tickets. The Dodgers paid Brown $400,000 in exchange for these demands as part of the deal. Brown says he likes being a Yankee because, like all homesick redneck ballplayers, he feels "closer to home." He also said he hopes to "sneak home" on the occasional off days to see his kids play ball down in Georgia. Well, Kevin, when you come north with the team, tell us how well your rebel flag goes over in the South Bronx.

Michael Flocker
Metrosexual Guru
THERE WILL ALWAYS be famous dictators, notorious anti-Semites and stand-out despots, but great hate movements always need lesser-known worker bees to actually sit down and write that Stalinist constitution, those Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Enter Michael Flocker, the very self-satisfied author of The Metrosexual Guide to Style. Carry a slim money clip or billfold (to avoid unsightly bulges), and make sure your belt and your shoes match when you push this callow, pedicured mannequin-conformist in front of the No. 9 train.

Just read #50 (will read others later): Sofia Coppola needs to be moved way up the list, IMO. That crummy film was such a waste, I am sorry I parted with the bucks for the DVD just because of the review and I like Bill Murray. Murray was the only redeeming point of the film.
