Do you think a reward for al Sadr would work? What's the reward for bin Laden up to now? And that's been out there for almost three years and no one's turned him in.

Muslims always like to point out how sophisicated and educated they were one thousand years ago. They have given nothing to the world during that time but hatred, throat-slitting, jihads, terrorism, etc. Only 10,000 books in Arabic have been translated into other languages in the last century. More books than that are translated from Spanish into other languages in a single year. If you go to Israel you can always tell where the Arabs live--where it is barren and underdeveloped. They possess the typical attitude of the professional victim--poor me, everyone is against me, it not my fault I'm a broke-d*ck, its someone else's.

We need to drop a few bombs on the road between Syria and Iraq. Perhaps the pot holes will slow them down. Or...if they do join the fight, then perhaps we can go in to Syria and find the WMDs.

USA is going to learn to stay out of a war if they are not going to use overwhelming force. This is what I see here, the lack of will to use enough force to win a war, and one would think that only a fool would try that. We do need more troops, but please do not send one more soldier if American leaders are not going to do all it takes to win this war. There simply has to be enough force to overcome the enemy, this just has to be. Do not send our troops to Iraq just to be slaughted by the Islamic terrorists, because we are not willing to strike beneath the belt. The terrorists know what it takes to win and they have no bounds, so at this point, the terrorists chances of winning are better, because our commanders are just "educated fools" hoping to fight a "sanitized" war.
I paused for a moment before replying to your post. I have a few problems with what you said. First, we do not need more troops. This goes back to your first statement about using overwhelming force: the number of troops is not directly related to overwhelming force. I see this as a weapons issue. A few AC-130s would tear Fallujah apart, and that does not require additional troops. The commanders in Iraq have long had the ability to ask for and receive additional troops. You better be careful with this notion of needing additional troops. This is an issue that Democrats want to use to beat the Bush administration over the head to diminish American successes. As the battlefield changes the requirements for troops will increase and decrease. This should not be a political issue. It is a simply military issue, that is being handled, and has been handled.
I am beginning to be believe that the word "overwhelming" is not necessarily the best word to describe what needs to be done to achieve our objectives. The word "violent", is perhaps much better.
The other major problem in your post is that you sound like a defeatist. Our troops are not be slaughtered by Islamic terrorists. The Marines are taking names and kicking major a@@ in Fallujah. It is the Islamic terrorists that are being slaughtered. Perhaps you haven't been reading other posts, but their number of dead is approaching 500, and perhaps by now is greater than 500, with well over a 1,000 injured.
Another major problem that I have with your post is the notion that "we are not willing to strike beneath the belt." That is the way it should be. There is a difference in using terrorist tactics, and waging violent war. The Marines are waging violent war and doing it well. US forces do not need to strike beneath the belt to win. That is a tactic of the weak, both militarily and morally.
Lastly, I have a problem with you calling our commanders "educated fools". Your post shows your absolute ignorance about waging war and our military. I suspect that your knowledge of warfare would barely fit in the tip of the little finger of one of our commanders.
As proof of your ignorance, I shall use your own words. You wrote, The terrorists know what it takes to win and they have no bounds
The terrorists absolutely have no idea what it takes to win. They violate one of the most fundamental principles in winning wars. They are willing to die for their cause. No war has ever been won by dying for ones country. Wars are won by making the other sorry bastard die for his. The USMC is gladly helping the terrorists die for their cause at the very moment I write this.

Insightful point about the book translations. I had seen that fact somewhere myself. I think it was the Atlantic Monthly.
I have a British friend who traveled the world working on textile machinery and he thought the Middle East had the most backwards, disgusting society and culture in the world. They are more like wild pack dogs than humans. He seemed to focus on the level of dishonety and deceit in their daily dealings. The look on his face when he would talk about Iraq or Egypt drove home the fact he was being sincere.

I can-not believe that a $25-50 million $$$ reward had not been set for Radical Muqtada al-Sadr head. I don't think that a MOAB costs $25-50 mil........

Poor buggers. Unfortunately, believing the propaganda put out by Al-Jazz-bag, AFP, and the rest will only get you a well-ventilated cranium courtesy of the US Marines.

After US pulled out of all Mosul bases, guerilla swarmed the town and the entire Mosul Iraq security forces surrendered to any guerilla and gave the guerilla their uniform and weapons. Police stations are being ransacked for weapons and uniforms in other cities. Supply lines between Fallujah-Jordan and Baghdad-Jordan are CUT. Supply lines between Baghdad-South/Kuwait/sea are CUT and so are *communication lines*.
Welcome to Free Republic, member since January 19, 2004. Why not post links to any or all of these claims. You'd think if it was the case, Al-Jazz-bag and all the other propaganda outlets would be all over it.
