Nearly 60,000 Fallujah residents about a third of the population have streamed out of the city over the past two days, a Marine commander said.
"If you don't respond within 12 hours ... he will be treated worse than those who were killed and burned in Fallujah."
"The prospect of some city father walking in and making 'Joe Jihadi' give himself up are pretty slim," said Lt. Col. Brennan Byrne, commander of the 1st Batallion, 5th Marine Regiment.
"What is coming is the destruction of anti-coalition forces in Fallujah ... they have two choices: Submit or die," he told reporters.

If Muhammer Khadaffi can be brought to the light, so can Iraq. Be firm while allowing the locals to decide to join civilization.

Gunfire crackled in Fallujah even as Iraqi government negotiators met with city leaders, trying to persuade them to hand over militants who killed and mutilated four Americans in the city March 31.
The old fashioned way of doing this was to simply bring the war and all of it's horror to the towns and cities that the "militants" are finding shelter in. When the people get tired of war they will take matters into hand and expel the "militants".
War is cathartic in the sense that when some people want it they will not and cannot be satified until they get it--and ENOUGH of it not to want it anymore.
Cases in point: The American South in the Civil war; there were no fighters more brave or ready.
The Japs in WWII, again, none more brave or ready. (And for that matter the Germans) we had no trouble from these all too willing combatants afterwards. That is because the fight was taken out of them.
Whenever you're ready, Mr. President.

Thanks for post. Another battalion of Marines and artillery. Me thinks Fallujah thugs (Saddam's SS) are about to find out that the Marines are as ruthless and competent killers as their reputation makes them out to be.
With the Marines the best propaganda is the sheer naked event.

Once the Marines are done with Fallujah and Ramadi, Disneyland could open Jewish-themed amusement parks in these two cities.

Religion of pieces if they don't hurry up and surrender...
"Clean-up on isle Fallujah."
Godspeed Marines!

USA needs to give the terrorists a deadline to turn over all of the kidnapped and Al Sadr, or see their Most Holy Mosque turn into dust.

"Were we not at this point observing suspension of offensive operations ... it could well have been that we would have had the entire the city by this point," Kimmitt told reporters in Baghdad. This is why this cease-fire crap is detrimental to winning a war.

Well, sounds like 60,000 have decided against being annihilated. The remainder need to be pulverized, IMO.

I hope someone in the press soon asks John Kerry if he has a problem with that position.
One can only imagine how much hand wringing that type of language is causing among the Democratic leadership.

"The prospect of some city father walking in and making 'Joe Jihadi' give himself up are pretty slim," said Lt. Col. Brennan Byrne, commander of the 1st Batallion, 5th Marine Regiment. It is doubtful this Marine infantry officer will make stars. He speaks too plainly, and truthfully.
To make stars, he would have to BS some, about what a good thing it is, for the "city father" to be talking with "Joe Jihadi."
Hopefully during the talking time, the jihadis aren't getting resupplied and reinforced.
