Possibly, but we can't just go finding things in the Constitution to fit our beliefs. That's the liberal way of doing things.

Right, lets just pass some laws so we can use the government to force our will on those who disagree with us. THAT IS THE LIBERAL WAY OF DOING THINGS.

You didn't answer my question.

The Supreme Court has the power to issue writs of scire facias.

"The writs of scire facias and mandamus are abolished." Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 81(b).

The whole reason for this is that the gays want to destroy the institution of marriage. Next they will try to destroy Christianity.

We've given up. We've lost.

We're being ruled instead of governed.

Enjoy.

Wish some of those old farts would retire.

Forget the marriage amendment....just amend the constitution to where SCOTUS is an elected position with 2@ 6 year terms.

There should not be a need for the United States Supreme Court in this instance. The Massachusetts Legislature already has all the tools that it needs to correct the situation. Article XXX of the Massachutsetts constitution forbids one branch of state government from interferinfg with the perogatives of the other. The Mass. Supreme court, in ordering the legislature to pass this law, has itself committed a blatently unconstitutional act. The executive powers of the state, in fulfilling their duty to honestly interpet the constitution themselves, should uphold their oaths and refuse to issue the licenses. The legislature should then impeach and remove these judges.

The Mass legislature , as a body has surrendered in this case, to a faux principle of adherence to a spurious rule of law and pusinaimouslly deferred to this lawless court. We are not living under the rule of law when an oligharcic robed elite conjure law up, and our elected officials bow in fealty.

"...In order for an Ammendment to be effective, some judges will have to be removed from the bench."

Ditto. They will only start paying attention when their jobs are at stake.

The Supreme Court should have NO jurisdiction in how a state issues licenses.

Excuse me? This is NOT a states rights issue!

Now, if the state were trying to prohibit same-sex marriage, it would be a state's rights issue, but since they're allowing it, it isn't a state's rights issue anymore. It's only a state's rights issue if we agree with what the state is doing.

THE ANSWER:
"When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:13-14

Friends, if you're reading FR, you're probably somewhat engaged in your community. You vote and contribute and participate as much as you can in your family, worship center--synagouge or church, and you likely support the conservative politician(s) in your district. If you don't do any of these, you should!

But many of us have been as busy as Martha and have not been attentive like Mary...Now is the time to remember to humble ourselves and do the sometimes hard work of looking to God. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the "heavy lifting" of activism, we forget our spirit. I know I do. We need to spend some time seeking His face. He is in control, let us never forget.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

I have not heard anything about Bush actually doing anything to get that constitutional amendment. I am waiting.

Same here. But let's remember he does have another major thing to deal with, i.e. the WOT. Still, regarding an amendment, the sooner the better.

You are absolutely right Recovering Democrat!!! Thank you for the vivid reminder that it is prayer that is going to tear down the walls. We all need to memorize 2 Chronicles 7;13-14 and allow the Holy Spirit to purge and cleanse our own hearts. I am praying daily for a revival in our land. Oh Lord let it be so!!!

Just ignore the court and arrest anyone who issues a marriage license.
Let the court try to enforce their decision, they don’t have LAW ENFORCEMENT abilities, the state does!

New adds in the personals:

Single white female heterosexual wishes to marry same.I have low income, but great medical benefits.Social Security recipients welcomed.

Single male heterosexual wishes to marry same.I have high income but no medical benefits.Males with primary custody of two or more children encouraged to reply.

Notice to all employees of XXXX Company:Due to the increased costs of life and medical insurance, we will no longer provide these benefits to our valuable employees.
Since we are a large corporation and are ultimately self insured, we are unable to continue these plans and maintain financial viability. The law does not allow us to hire only stable, ethical people as employees, so we find it necessary to refuse to hire anyone, and will no longer employ people as traditional employees.
This should be considered formal notice that we will fire all paid employees and hire independent contractors for their previous positions.Previous employees are encouraged to bid for the new positions.
The HR staff will be available for the next two weeks to assist you in evaluating whether or not you should incorporate yourself, in order to enhance your chances to be awarded the contract on your previous position. For a nominal fee.
It is important to understand that self-employed independent contractors are entirely responsible for their own taxes, including Federal, State, Social Security and Medicare.
The HR department will explain this to you, for a fee.
The HR department will provide free information regarding contractor performance bonds, which will be required from all contract bidders for the positions previously held by company employees.
We think this is a positive step for the benefit of the survival of our company, and the only way to allow everyone equally the same freedoms and opportunities in the "new" entirely nondiscriminatory, nonjudgmental, multicultural society recently voted for by...well by whoever voted for it.

Welcome to Amerika!

I think Souter is still recovering from those nasty bruises he suffered when he was mugged in the park late at night a few weeks back.

They've all been compromised. They're all cowards.
