Doris Day Is one of my favorite people.I worked for her aunt for a short while 55 years ago.I met her and a friend of hers that came to visit her aunt.
When Rock Hudson died DD was quoted as saying
"IF..... There is a Heaven I'm sure Rock
is there because he was such a kind person"
Left me wondering about her Spiritual condition.
I smile every time I think of the "Barney Cam"!
Small world. My Mom knew Doris Day as a school girl in Cincy as well. College Hill I think it was. It was a long time ago.
FYI...Rosemary Clooney was in the same class.

Hee! Hee! Hee!
If President Bush took her advice and stopped hunting, would John F'n Kerry have to run another photo-op that showed him not holding a shotgun but maybe with some birding glasses? "He observes birds but doesn't shoot them." Or maybe "I shot birds before I didn't shoot them"?
It would be another opportunity to show himself in a color-coordinated athletic outfit. He could show us what the well-dressed Boston Brahman birder wears these days.
TCM is showing the Desperate Journey at 1:00 today. It is very much worth watching.
And the actors and actresses back when they made great movies and actors just were that!
Actors!
Not like the ones now a days, who try to also get into politics, actors and actresses like Doris Day did not get into politics, and when they did, like Ronald Reagan, they would quit acting all together.
These people were ACTORS not ACTIVISTS. I guess that's what I'm saying.
She was a Cincinnati gal....need the Ohio vote...I
was at XU in Cincy in late 40's..she was an item then in
the Cincy area....hope she has plenty of relatives still in the buckeye state....Jake
She might have, did she have brothers and sisters?
I don't mind actors being involved with politics, what I don't like is their being so wrong so often.
Me too, and they'd get angry at those who don't agree with thier philosophy.
"Doris Day? Wasn't she a 'main squeeze' of Rock Hudson's?"
Um...family...I don't know how to break this to you....
you know this thread has made me somewhat worthless today. I leave then I keep coming back!
Although I would struggle to put together a list of my top 10 favorite actresses, Maureen O'Hara and Doris Day are certainly among them.
