"Now Democrats are moving a ballot measure, SCA 9, that would allow the state to get a loan from local governments, limited to twice a decade with a cap on the amount. "So much for no more credit cards.
Correction: Arnold HAD the leverage. He lost it.
You know so little about your own state. Sad.
Arnold wins if the Dems pass his budget. That's leverage.
Arnold wins if the Dems deadlock the Legislature and pass no budget at all. That's leverage.
The Dems don't have the votes to override any potential vetos. Again, that's Arnold's leverage.
Arnold has both the line item and full veto power. That's leverage.
Arnold has enough popular support to sway close races for Legislators. That's leverage.
Arnold has enough money, power, and popularity to pass his own budget via a ballot initiative without the Legislature getting anything at all. That's leverage.
But you, poor thing, are running around spouting that Arnold has no leverage any longer...not even backing up such an absurd claim with the slightest fact from your own state.
Sad, sad, sad.
No doubt that you'll be "surprised" when Arnold wins yet again, too.
10 Legislative Days Left Until The AWB Expires
All of are outside the Bay Area. Arnold, I think will have a tough time persuading voters to back his budget. He promised to tear up the credit cards and instead he's borrowed more. He gave the Democrats too much and got back too little. Do we need another Gray Davis budget? HECK, NO!
The author, that's who! Plus the governor's staff, plus it's been all the skuttlebutt for weeks and months.
He's getting exactly the same treatment so many on here feared McClintock would get if they had had the courage to vote for him and hadn't been so overly paranoid about the lame Bustamonte!!!
I remember being told that the shear force of his personality would overpower the Dems, something McClintock could never accomplish. Well... Were right back where we woulda been had McClintock been elected, except we wouldn't have a 15 Billion bondage on top of the predictable gridlock.
I love the gridlock!!! I love the partisanship!!! We shoulda had it months ago without the stupid multi-billion historic bondage!!! Let the bums all grind themselves into dust so the people can be lead by a leader with guts to do the right things... finally!!! What, praytell is the harm in that, Mr. Southack???
That would be history making, the RIGHT way and the people would cheer, instead of cowering in fear, with a government being governed by a real Governor, not some showman coached by Pete Wilson!!!
