NC Ping?
Glad to!!!
I think CD is on vacation, or so I heard.
Vote the RINO's out!
What is the likelyhood that Morgan is going to lose tomorrow? I have heard that it is too close to call.
"It's malarkey," Hood said. "[Morgan's Ad] makes a bill that raised taxes into an apparent tax cut. I find these ads the most odious ... telling a deliberate falsehood based on the assumption that people won't check it out."
This is the reason Morgan has to go: He's a liar.
More GOP self-destructiveness. (NCSteve)
On the contrary, removing Morgan and his kin from office will make the NCGOP stronger!
I haven't been keeping up with the polls, but from what I am hearing at the precinct level, a LOT of people hope this comes true.
Do you and I have the same representative?
Do you vote in the county?
David Miner is my rep in the state house.
In the long run, definitely. In the near term, I fear the worst. This squabble has disaffected too many voters here in the West. I think the turnout tomorrow will be pathetically low.
Miner is in trouble with the RNC and Bush, right?
Not so much "in trouble", but he has been asked by the RNC and the Bush campaign to stop using a recorded message by Bush for Miner telephone marketing. Miner has said he will continue to use them.
It is too bad that Morgan started all this intra-party fussing. We could have been concentrating on getting Weasley and his gang out of office.
Why doesn't Morgan just switch parties???
Robert Brawley, a staunch conservative Republican from Iredell county, is running for state insurance commissioner this time around. Several years ago, he was in the House and served his constituents well. I know him personally and can vouch for him. If you haven't decided on any candidate for that office, vote for him.
I don't think it is accurate to say that Morgan started all this. He definitely escalated it, but this feud has been going on since at least 1994. I remember the power skirmish that happened when Brubaker got elected Speaker. Daughtry and his cronies got their feelings hurt and they have carried a grudge ever since. No one, on either side of this fight, is any prize. We would be better off if every one of them switched parties.
For Immediate Release - July 19, 2004
From the desk of Linda Shaw, RNC National Committeewoman:
Miner Ignores RNC Requests to "Cease and Desist;" Hijacks President's Voice
Richard Morgan also told to "cease and desist"
(RALEIGH) - On Friday, July 16, 2004, Representative David Miner was contacted by the Republican National Committee Counsel's Office regarding the unauthorized use of President Bush's voice in an automated phone call. Miner was told to "immediately cease and desist from any further use of the President's voice."
Miner ignored the request and continues to use the President's voice in his automated calls to voters of the NC House District 36.
"Integrity is one of the most important things that the voters must weigh when deciding who to elect to public office," said Linda Shaw, RNC National Committeewoman from North Carolina. "David Miner is trying to intentionally deceive the voters of his district by leading them to believe that he has been endorsed by President George W. Bush when he has not."
"Truth and honesty are traits that the voters should expect from their elected leaders," added Shaw. "The Republican voters of NC House District 36 should be weary of any candidate who would say anything, or do anything, to be elected."
President Bush's voice was recorded some time ago for use in one of Bush's many recorded messages thanking his supporters. Miner took parts of the message and made it sound as though President Bush has endorsed him in his upcoming primary election against Nelson Dollar.
"President Bush has done so much to help the Republican Party," continued Shaw. "It is shameful that some individuals would use his name and his voice in an unauthorized and inappropriate manner. David should have more respect for the President."
The Republican National Committee has also been in touch with Co-Speaker Richard Morgan, requesting that he also "cease and desist" using former First Lady Barbara Bush's name in connection with his campaign. Morgan has been using an outdated quotation by Mrs. Bush which could create the impression that she and Former President George H. W. Bush have endorsed Morgan's campaign.
It is amazing to me that you complain about "RINO's" in one thread, then complain about attacking "RINO's" in another.
How could you defend not going after Michael Decker with both barrels?
What will happen if both of them fail to comply?
Do you vote in the county?
David Miner (ugh)
I vote at one of the schools on Penny Road.
