too bad - i really like the look and feel of S&W revolvers, but i'll happily support the continued boycott.
I disagree. The ownership that made that atrocious deal has long gone and we ought to be supporting American gun manufacturers and an American economy. Failure to do so at this time only plays into the hands of antigunners. The boycott was the correct course of action then. Stopping it is also a signal.
-- A .45 pistol. Every man needs a .45. Personally, I prefer DA/SA over 1911s, but that is purely personal preference.
-- The .30 caliber rifle was a good suggestion. Spend as much on the scope as you spend on the rifle.
-- Two AR-15s. One for CQB (16" carbine with Aimpoint), and one for intermediate range stuff (16" dissipator with ACOG). A semiautomatic rifle is a necessity in a SHTF scenario
-- Two rifles in 6.8mm, should that cartridge take off. One for CQB/Intermediate work (16" barrel with Aimpoint or ACOG). And an 18" rifle for longer distances, with either a 4X ACOG or adjustable Leupould.
-- 50 caliber rifle.
I'm thinking about getting one of those. I have a Mossberg 590, which I like, but I also like the idea of having something smaller.
How is the recoil on yours when shooting 00 buck or slugs?
Say S&W goes under and I buy it for $10.00 I fight like crazy to rebuild the company, I put it back in the black. You're still going to try and put me out of business? I don't have anything to do with the prior business agreements. I disagree with the actions taken by the previous owners. I reject any efforts to entangle the company in future agreements. You're going to hold me accountable for something I had no part of and would reject in the future? For a boycott to be effective, it has to offer a carrot and stick approach. The stick is punitive action until the behavior is changed. The carrot is that when you change your behavior, the punishment stops. If punishment will never stop, there is no enticement to change. In fact you merely encourage further trangressions. That's pretty basic psychology, a subject I happen to teach.
BTW, stockholders aren't always huge investors that can dictate policy.
The recoil is pretty good when shooting 3" mag 00 buck and slugs, not too bad with non-mags.
Just don't grip it too tight and let your arms act as shock absorbers.
Why?
But what is the status of the original agreement with Clinton ? My impression is that the status is not clear.
>>I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense to me. No offense. Not only are you damaging the stockholders, but what about the workers; the artisians who work there and won't easily find other work in a very tight industry?
The demand for pistols still remains, and other companies will prosper accordingly, so all that equipment and all those skills will remain in demand. The idea is for Ruger to buy the old factory.

If you keep using the S&W brand, I will hope that you get out of it only what you paid for it: next to nothing. The point is not that we desire to punish you, the buyer. The point is that if we fail to, then a short-lived boycott will not be very fearsome to companies considering signing deals with the devil. The death penalty would be a deterrent, for reasons I mentioned earlier.
Of course, if a bunch of gun-rights advocates (or anyone) bought the assets from a bankruptcy court (meaning that the owners got ZERO), I'd be content to resurrect the brand and start buying. But only bankruptcy ensures that the devil-dealers get nothing.
Because we just do, okay? Now get back into the kitchen and bake me a pie!
I see. Based on your 'sexist' reply, you must need it to compensate for another weakness?
Leave it to a broad to have no sense of humor. (pats you on the a&&)
So you like to pat guys on the a$$. hmmm.
good stuff, thanks
You can't put on a pair of pants and claim to be a guy, missy.
I know you are one of those transvestite/she-male types anyways.
You can't strap on a 45 and claim to be a guy, missy.
*YOU* can't.
*I* can.
