Hmmm. You claim the 45 as the king of the hill but you post a photo of a 223 Remington. hmmm.
Love that toon. I've got it hanging on the wall of my cube.
"A Colt Gold Cup with a Springfield Armory SASS barrel chambered for the 223 Remington. A Leupold 2.5-8 EER scope is installed on a modified Ruger 10/22 base and rings. The barrel is 15" long:"
It was a pun.
I think you missed the caption. I was suspect. Noone that is serious about hunting would put a scope on a 45. Not enough elevation adjustment available!
Please get some coffee. First you post a photo of a 223 thinking it was a 45, then say it was a pun but now claim it was a palindrome???
Sure!
.223PosingAsA.45. = .54.AsAgnisoP322.
See???
(Personally, I think the pet-shop owner's brother was lyin')
That settles it! The pet shop owner's brother was LYIN'!
(Well, you can't blame that on British Rail....)
What is a Gniso P322?
For the conceal-carry crowd.
Sounds like you don't grasp some basic economic principles. First of all, this boycott isn't changing the demand for goods. The demand remains the same. As demand for S&W goes down, demand for others goes up. S&W lays off workers and "artisans" because they need less of them, but the other manufacturers now need more. It doesn't happen cleanly and instantly, but it does happen, it's amazing how free markets work themselves out for the good of everyone. And as for the stockholders, well, they should have done their research and known the risk they're taking by purchasing such stock.
If punishment will never stop, there is no enticement to change. In fact you merely encourage further trangressions.
I'd agree is the goal was to get S&W to change, but it isn't. The goal is to make sure other manufacturers NEVER sell out, S&W has already sold out.
AH! That's different and the entire crux of my argument. Can you tell me what they're doing now that is so harmful to the cause?
Good point. Even if S&W repented, an army of NGO lawyers will be on their backs forever to see to it that they hew to the Devil's bargain they signed.
They are now the Left's gun manufacturer, the first manufacturer led into camp by the Southern Poverty Law Center tactic of suing in courts of equity to force people to heel politically.
Now we have, unfortunately and very regrettably, to destroy S&W in order to remove the precedent and void the Left's victory -- and teach appeasement-minded, quisling RiNO businessmen a lesson about the negative value of collaborating with the enemies of the People of the United States, their Constitution, and their Republic.
Actually, I teach economics.
" The demand remains the same. As demand for S&W goes down, demand for others goes up."
The soul of our economic system lies in product diversification and competition. The S&W product line includes rifles, shotguns and a huge line of handguns. Removal of them as a supplier/producer where many other producers are foreign owned or merging creates an oligopoly. This is not a good business climate for the consumer.
"S&W lays off workers and "artisans" because they need less of them, but the other manufacturers now need more."
Not necessarily. And what about the pensions (not to mention salary), health benefits and relocation costs even if a new position is available elsewhere?
"it's amazing how free markets work themselves out for the good of everyone."
That's very true, but you can't foresee the potential dampening effect on the market due to your external politically motivated meddling, no matter how righteous it may be! In the current climate (even during the Bush administrations--either of them) as it pertains to tort law and business regulation, how many new producers of firearms have come on the scene with a high quality product? Do you see? Push one out, especially a producer with the volume, quality and custom shop line like S&W and it is not likely to be replaced. This results in a net loss to the industry and to the consumer through diversification, competition and supply.
Least importantly, because of the historical value of the cartridge.
More importantly, because it has excellent stopping power, and will be readily available if things ever hit the fan.
What is the status of the agreement with Clinton (second request) -- If they have not refuted the agreement, isn't it "harmful to the cause" ?
