Bush is fighting a guerilla campaign.

Kerry is going to get hit at surprising times and with surprising things.

Bush is going to win with a large margin.

But nothing piques the interest of reporters like a politician's attempt to play down or hide something.

First obstacle: Finding intellectually honest reporters who are given access so that they can ask questions. This, however may provide a new campaign question: Senator Kerry, you seem to be attempting to hide your Congressional record. What else are you trying to hide?

Bush is going to win but not with a large margin. Maybe he will have +2 or +3 in the popular vote, I don't know if you consider that a large margin.

Like I have said many times here on FR, too many states are just out of reach for almost any Republican in a national election. Bush has no shot at winning those states, sorry.

I think the final electoral vote spread will be around Bush/Cheney - 325, Kerry/Edwards - 213. It will be considerably less exciting than it looks since of Kerry's 213, 77 will be the left coast and Hawaii, and Bush will have locked it up by then.

Whew, that was close.

Bush will rub shoulders with many more retired generals and admirals in New York.

He should fill Madison Square Garden with them. I'd like to see Franks and Schwartzekopf on the podium with him, too.

"What else are you trying to hide?"
He certainly glossed over his first marriage as if the only importance of that time was the birth of his children and the saving of the hamster.
Where is Julia Stimson Thorne Kerry ______, grandaughter of Secretary of War Stimson? I know she's in Montana, but so am I and I've never heard a word about where.

" Never has a candidate made so much out of so short a military tour of duty.
The question is how much it really helps his campaign.
For sure, it doesn't hurt."

It hurts the Hanoi Hamster like hell-his bogus Purple Hearts ,
the questionable "heroics ",
re enacting his " heroics " with a movie camera,
bugging out early and abandoning his men-this was his " Adios Tour ",
trashing his fellow soldiers, especially those still behind fighting and dying in the jungles,
cavorting with Jane Fonda,
creating the VVAW,
spitting on returning soldiers,
throwing away his medals, etc, etc.
The Hanoi Hamster is to the troops and their families and anyone who loves and respects the military-
like a cross is to a vampire.

Kerry would only believe he's winning if he's looking at the subjective polls.

I've got to strongly disagree on that point. I'm quite sure that there are thousands of us veterans out here sending links to anti-kerry websites and talking to friends, family, and co-workers. You'll never know it from news reports but an awfully large number of people are hearing a whole bunch of stuff that kerry really doesn't want them to hear. I think Mr. 'war hero' is blind to this happening.

The only use he should have made of his Vietnam service would be to apologize for his anti-war activities, lies, and slanders. Next, he should have begged for forgiveness and then STFU up about Vietnam.

We will see. Guerilla tactics by the GOP and too many stumbles by Kerry may change things in the months ahead.

What in God's green earth is going to change million vote+ deficits in places like California, NY, Illionis?

Nothing - I am positive but realistic. Any Freeper expecting much more than 325-350 EVs is living in fantasyland.

Look, even the democrat internal polls show California is in play. GW Bush is going to win with a great margin. I say no less than 8 points, plus Republicans are going to pick up additional seats in both houses of congress.

Kerry "reporting for duty" is a sick joke. To whom is he reporting? The people? Hardly, unless he means the people of France or Germany or the UN. As Commander in Chief he would not get any shiny medals or pretty ribbons, no hazard pay, no early out. He'd be the final authority on armed force, with all the responsiblity, no higher-ups to blame, no peers to join in protest, no support from most of his own party. He'd lose interest in about...four months.

What are the democrat California internals you are talking about? I haven't seen them.

I expect the US Senate to be in our favor by either 53-46-1, or 54-45-1 after election day, but not much more than that. I expect the House to shore up also, based on the Texas redistricting. So I agree there will be gains in the Senate and House whether Bush wins by 3 points or by 8.

Bush by eight is a stretch, though. I don't see it (but I would welcome it)!

How about a close shave with a new terrorist attack?

Or how about an actual terrorist attack (God forbid).

It surprises me that you think that in 6 months things will continue along as they are. Big things happen.

It surprises me that anybody can look at states like Cali, NY (which suffered the most from terror attacks) and think that a doube digit deficit in votes would be turned around in the event of anything you mention..

A new terror attack can swing things EITHER way. So yes, a lot can happen, but I don't see them changing the voting pattern in places like CA, IL, NY, etc enough to swing the state.

The only reason that NY is solidly dem is because they have been for 2 decades. I lived among them for over 3 decades - they are hopeless.
