Hmm..
Wonder how quickly the local economy around the bases in Germany are going to tank, and how long it will be before Schroeder whines about it?
Likely, he'll say it was a vindictive and directed planned takedown of the local economy.
Schroeder is a scumbag communist and won't admit that he's wrong on anything.

Well, for Germany, the norther and eastern parts are very industrialized. Steel, and other mines in the area.

The southern sections tout tourism, and rightly so, it is beautiful there, I love Garmish in the winter. I was born in Heidelberg, Army brat here, had many years in country. I believe germany could hold it's own as far as the economy goes. rough start, but it could work.

That sounds great (except for the torrential downpour). Nice to have a mild summer.

Now, then. The $64,000 question:

**snicker!**

Hmm.
Drats.
It'd be a heck of a humorous payback if the bases brought a good portion of money and jobs to them.

Well, as far as bavaria goes, there isn't much American influence needed.

I am not too sure about Frankfurt/Mannhiem, Stutgart and Weisbaden, the presence is much more heavy there. If a sudden pull out occured, a black hole may come of it.

Actually, I read an article just this morning that claimed that aresol cans "HIDE" global warming .....REALLY!

See, all that stuff gets sprayed out of our hair-spray and paint-cans, but because it hangs out and obscures the atmosphere, temperatures are radically COOLER than they might otherwise be!

But that global warming is still THERE, ( and we should all feel bad and guilty about it, too! Especially if we have big hair or use spray-paint for 4-H projects!) ) but we just can't tell... because everything is cooler.....because of the aresol cans!

I am NOT making this up.....

Hmm.
This is going to be educational when the troops do leave Germany.
We're going to have to keep a weather eye on it.
I suspect we'll have more Der Spiegel trolls showing up because of it when the day comes.

Hehehe, where were you? I've been at Frankfort, Ramstien and Stuttgart. I enjoyed my stays there every time. The people there are just wonderful. My Brother-in-law is going there next month for 30 days. I just developed a need for Jagerschnitzel and a brew.

I'm not a teacher. A-V Repair Tech/ Distributed Computer Syst. Spec. I actually had to repair sump'n for a spell. And I'm too beat to mess with you all any more today. It'll probably be a while before something annoys me enough to post again. I guess the comment which best expresses my view on this article was the one that said that the US Armed Forces were not in the business of providing Germany with a multicultural experience. That's all I meant to say. Thanks for all the cool graphics. Thanks most to the couple of folks that actually got my point. I learned a lot. I'm going home now.

You also said cultural imperialism, and stated in other posts that we do social engineering experiments on other countries.
