I really think that when people are alone in that voting booth and consider the events of the past three years, they'll vote for GW.

I admit this is the source of my hope in the American people. Once separated from TV, music, or biased print people will be alone with that ballot. It is slowly dawning on people that this is a serious election despite antics to the contrary. I realize hate is a powerful emotion but self preservation is strong as well. In their hearts, even some of the people professing hatred for our President know it is irrational. They remember 9-11 even if they are not currently acting as though they do. There is a certain percentage that are so blinded by hate they are past all rational but I have difficulty believing they comprise a majority of this country. This is why I'm not too centered on polls. I'm not sure polling is going to accurate reflect the moment of truth in that balloting booth. Love hearing all these stories about the Bush rally!

Well what's wrong with that.

Why just the other day me and some of my pipe fitter buddies and carpenter union friends and some of my UAW home boys got together.

And we went out and flew to our favorite windsurfing spot.

Like we always do. Cause we are average joes.

And then we got on our $5000 custom bicycles and went for a ride to Wendy's.

Where I ordered a "chocolate frosty".

Sure.

Because, just like JFK, we are normal guys. Average guys. Middle class working stiffs.

Just like John Kerry.

Yep.

Anyone who votes for him is an idiot. I really believe that.

Jonathan...I told you to marry ugly rich women, but you didn't listen. When will you wake up?

The President was in Troy, OH at 11:00 AM today. He was greated by 27,000 screaming voters yelling "Four More Years" every time W took a breath. It was wonderful. The entire rally was covered by one of 3 local TV stations and his speech of about 40 minutes was also covered by one of the others. Beats me why the third didn't bother. Probably pro, as the President referred to him "his opponent." He never did say the name. (What is that name - Oh never mind)...

W was in top form. I wish I could have been there but I'm sure I saw more by watching on TV. He got down from the podium and greated people and signed autographs. No surprise, eh? It was a great day for him in Ohio.

27,00 Tickets were given out ahead of today. I heard that they "all showed up". However many were there, they did him proud. They even covered two K&E signs in the third floor window of a building behind the podium with a mamouth American Flag. The President never saw the K&E signs. Good job Troy. The 11:00PM news just showed maybe 10 or 12 protesters, kept blacks away. Let's hear it for Troy.

I have made typos many a time before. None so embarrassing as this. I apologize to anyone who might have been angered by what I typed. It certainly was NOT what I meant. Gee whiz, what a dummy. I'm not supposed to be typing due to hand surgery, guess I now know a second reason why. Forgive me if you will.

okay, more from yesterday, now that i have had time to think about it.

my old pop, who is 90 now, was there. some of you prayed for him 4 or so years ago when he almost died. i didn't have tickets for him, which i was actually glad of because of the heat and long hours of standing. but we parked at his house and walked down to the fort. when we got back, it was so funny, because there were my mom and dad, who are pretty frail these days, all excited because a neighbor had given them tickets. they walked down there and "got in," as my dad said. you should have seen him. he was the most energetic he has been in a long time, and his face was all aglow, his eyes sparkling. of course, he got tired and came back early before the rush. dad and i went to see g.w. when he was at the toledo airport before he became president. it was funny, because he almost decked a union guy, gore supporter, who got in his face about voting for bush THEN...

the press was ridiculous. you could tell they were the national press corps because they skittled in like vermin right before W arrived.plus they just acted like they were better than everybody else...you know...ANOINTED..

then they kept patrolling the secured area around our President....sooooo cocky, it made me sick. they surveyed the crowds up and down, looking at us like we were INSANE.

one photog, a middle aged redheaded female with a tight blue shirt and a gut, just looked positively CONTEMPTUOUS of the little people. her air of superiority emanated in WAVES. (personally i thought her outfit was all wrong, her hair looked dyed, and the nasty little face she has made over the years needed to smile once in a while. )

then the press were also standing behind us on this big elevated platform (from which the "commoners" were bumped) and they kept DROPPING crap...SO noisy...ONE IDIOT, while our PRESIDENT was talking-for whom we had waited FOUR hours--was TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE-- i mean---i couldn't hear THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES because the press idiot was saying "DID YOU EAT DINNER YET?" over and over LOUDLY!!!

it was AMAZINGLY poor behavior!!!! i mean, GEEZ...it's the PRESIDENT, idiot! i turned around and glared at him several times, he made EYE CONTACT, and just WENT ON TALKING, horse's hiney that he was!!!!

honestly the whole experience was quite revealing. they really are self-absorbed idiots.

it was such an interesting and inspiring experience. all those imbeciles (a protestor had a sign that read "bush is a false prophet"...really original, right?) looking at all of us in the "rust belt" like WE are the fools...and there we stand in the THOUSANDS, quietly loving him.

just as they scorn him over and over, ridicule him, treat him like he is stupid, mock him for his faith and his persistence, just as all the films and books and plays cut away at his character and fortitude, we watch and quietly love his courage and strength, in the thousands.

and "they" just don't get it. it's a pretty awesome experience.

Thanks for a great way to start the day - I'm smiling all over again!

Bless your Dad! Mine is 87, and has lived with us for the past 4 years. He has dementia, and could not have done what your parents did.

What a special memory that will be for all of you.

I'm in Akron, which is 2 hours from Perrysburg, a suburb of Toledo, so I didn't get to see it.

There is another stupid poll on CNN which asks, Will you watch Pres. Bush make his acceptance speech Thursday night? http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/late.edition/

Right now it is mostly NO. I'm convinced the lefties never bother to listen to a word this man has said.

If you are so inclined, PLEASE vote! Thanks! These folks obviously live by this: DON'T CONFUSE ME WITH FACTS, MY MIND IS MADE UP!!

Don't worry. I understood it was a typo before I even read further and saw your apology.

I'm really happy about the reception that Troy gave GW. Looked like the heart and soul of America gathered there to support him. :)

I watched it on TV to and President Bush was fantastic and I think the turn out really delighted him. He also spoke in Lima,Ohio in a Town Hall forum and I watched that one too and again, he was on the top of his game!

Just heard Rudy say that he and Hillary had two things in common... they were both Yankees fans. He stopped and let the laughter build and, he said, when we go into that voting both, we're both voting for George Bush.

You poor thing. :) W was handsome as ever, and Laura was beautiful. I saw his plane fly over my home as they were getting ready to land (I'm in the flight path) and tried to take a pic, but it didn't turn out. There were about 2,000 or so that attended, and they loved him. He'll be coming to Michigan approx. 10 more times, (not necessarily in my area, though.) 200 campaign calls gets you in the front, and 2,000 will get you on stage.

I'm in a very large dem. stronghold, but they weren't allowed in. Oh, they tried by putting their protest clothes underneath their outerwear, but when found, they were escorted OUT.
