I guess Lucy Ramirez must have been a Navy lady, like Burkett, using terms like 'billet'...

Lucy Ramirez: the voice in Burkett's head.

"I didn't forge anything," Burkett said. "I didn't fake any documents. The only thing I've done here is to transfer documents from people I thought were real to people I thought were real. And that has been the limitation of my role. I may have been a patsy."

Wow, Burkett is a treasure trove of what is sure to be classic quotes.

Burkett had twice before been an on-the-record source for USA TODAY stories: a Dec. 18, 2001, story on inflated troop counts in the Guard nationwide — so-called ghost soldiers — and a Feb. 12 story this year in which Burkett recounted what he said were efforts by top Texas Guard officials to "cleanse" Bush's military record of embarrassing information in the summer of 1997""

Well, So much for the integrity of USA Today.

Time for the PJ Patrol to dig up the connections between Kerry's campaign crew and Ramirez.

I've got my FRammies® on and I'm on the hunt.

Apparently, this was the guy Burkett met for the exchange of the CBS documents after that Hardball appearance.

I'm not saying this is the one. Someone expressed doubts as to the spelling and/or existance of such a person. I simply Googled the name and came up with a Lucy R with the same spelling and a connection to a Democrat, however tenuous.

I'm about as far from Texas as one can get and still be in the same country, don't know much about Texas geography and haven't even been in Texas for over 40 years.

At one point Thursday, as he spoke on a cell phone to his San Antonio lawyer, David Van Os, Burkett's voice froze in midsentence and his body convulsed in a violent seizure. He was helped to the floor and then to a couch. He has had such bouts sporadically over the past several months, but this one was worse, his wife said.""

Yikes.

I looked at his district map (the congressman) after I posted the reply.

Then I posted another reply...

We should look into this.

That congressman's district runs not too far from Bexar, County (San Antonio) where Burkett's lawyer, David Van Os lives ...and was a chairman.

"I just pushed too far," Burkett said. "I implied that George had something to do with this. I lied to you." He said he told the same story to CBS, but asserted that all his other dealings in the documents case had been honest. "I honest to God can't remember anything else I feel bad about," Burkett said.

Oh...I don't know, Burkett. How about feeling bad about dragging the name of a dead Guardsman through the mud, lying about Gen. Staudt, and lying about, an insulting, the President of the United States.

Might be interesting to see his reaction to the idea of taking a polygraph...

Burkett is a total nut case. He will not be able to stand up to the pressure he is under.

His "Lucy" story is certainly fabricated. If he didn't forge the documents himself, I believe he will shortly give up the truth (or kill himself).

If others were involved, he has the evidence to prove it. He features himself as a lone wolf out to fight the Bush government. He knows records and proof of contacts are important.

If there are others involved, they can't be sleeping well.

As for CBS and the DNC....BWAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

"Burkett will snap before they can get him to the local Fort Marcy Park."

He got the equivalent of the Orange Juice Report. He'll be dressed in
a gorilla suit and put in a cage with a friendly gorilla. Al Franken
knows the script.

Lucy Ramirez wasn't even the one who made the exchange according to the Austin American-Statesman.. It was some cockamamie story about how an unknown and unidentified man gave him the documents...

From the Pumpkin Papers to the Stockyard Dossier?
