Re#31 Understood. I don't bother trying. In time, the newbies get tired of the vanities too and get on board. Busy times here and, as before, there is a flurry of vanities. Maybe when one signs up they should get the rules e-mailed to them with a polite request that they follow them. Gotta run. Take care out there....

Did you ever get a popcorn hull stuck between your teeth and you pick at it with your tongue until it's sore, but you're too stubborn to get dental floss out so you try other objects you think might work, like a paper clip or pocket knife? And they don't, really, and if you're not careful you end up bleeding all over the keyboard and your buddies ask you "Owl, my man, whazzup with the gum hemmorhage?" I often frequented usenet back in the day. Virtually every newsgroup had it's self-appointed hall monitor whose mission in life was to keep all other posters in line.

One hall monitor at alt.music.pinkfloyd was so annoying that I took to calling him the "FAQ Gestapo," because anytime anyone posted any question, his response was always to rudely insist that they read and memorize the 453,878,009,354,871,886 page FAQ for the newsgroup.

He became so insufferable (and pervasive) that I eventually just stopped going there at all.
