To an extent, a "good" vanity versus a "bad" vanity is, like beauty, in the eye of the beholder.
Personally, I think an unsourced post like the one you cite (of an event) is fine, though when I personally post such things I do put the word "Vanity" in my subject line for those who don't care to read what one man (me) has to say about a particular subject.
Why? Kinda as a courtesy, I suppose. It's annoying to click on a mislabeled or vaguely labeled thread, thinking it's something sourced only to find out it's just some ill-formed rant or something.
For the record, duplicates and mislabeled threads bug me a heck of a lot more than vanities, but different strokes for different folks...
Agreed. Further, it is just batsh** crazy to see "Member since Today" shoving dupe posts into Breaking News. Gotta get a hand on this sort of thing.
