It's a good diet. I am in the 2nd phase right now......but today was hard when my daughter brought home the candy for her school. I told myself just one won't hurt. I'll regret it tomorrow.

I don't watch Oprah, but I did hear Rush talking about it. Many in the audience were moved to tears when they had the picture of terrorism painted for them by the guests on the show.

Meet Emma Torkelson, First-Time Voter

Emma Torkelson registered to vote for the first time today. Normally, most first-time voters don't draw that much attention, but Emma's case is special. She's 100 years old, a resident of the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls, MN, and is registering to vote for the first time specifically to cast her first vote for President George W. Bush. Wayne Stein, the Otter Tail County Auditor was on hand to personally receive her registration application.

Emma states that she's never been political, but the President's strong values and his support for building a culture of life have made her want her to vote this year. Her parents were life long Democrats, and she figured she always was one too. They both voted, but she's not sure why she never did. Her son Bob believes that she, being a devoted wife, didn't want to cancel out the vote of her husband Oscar, who was a life long Republican. Oscar and Emma were married for 52 years.

Discussing her decision to vote for the first time, Emma said, said "I just picked out my man, the one that I thought would be a good man. I just happened to like Bush ever since I heard of his dad and mother and his wife Laura. They are all people I could talk to, down to earth."

Coincidently, Emma also had a brother named George whose wife is named Laura, which is how she always remembers the names of the President and First Lady.

Emma has 11 grand children and 18 great grandchildren, all of whom are excited about grandma voting!

**Preferably something with chocolate...reeses cups, snickers, 3 musketeers, mounds, butterfinger. As you can tell I give equal opportunity to all candy bars.**

Reeses cup, snikers I know but other what are they? We have mars bars, twix, kitkat, bounty bars, lion bars, topics etc.

We have all of those too. Just a bar of candy is a candy bar, most are chocolate, but there are others like peanuts with nougat and sour taffies.

Isn't she something? I probably won't have my mental faculties at age 100 even if I did manage to hang around that long!

My sister and her husband got to tour the oval office as a very good friend of theirs is a secret service agent. They stood at the same place you were and they loved it.

My brother in-law commented on the red phone that had speed dials labeled POTUS, VPOTUS, First Lady, etc...

Funny thing is, they are democrats!

When my wife and I toured the White House this spring, we could only do the regular tour, but it was still great.

I think he looks more like Jeb Bush in that photo

Yes, more than he usually does. He looks like he has some of Jeb's thickening waistline in that picture, too. (He doesn't in reality, I don't think).

I usually see very much of his father in his closeup shots, much more recently than I used to. He is going to look very much like his father in old age.
