Why no such tough investigation of Kerry's much more interesting serive record?
This is actually good news because it proves the Dems have NOTHING to attack with. The "lost weapons" story is meant to support the "failed policy in Iraq" line of argument, but it backfired. THIS story is just another blind shot which someone hopes will hurt.
If they had anything more, they'd have it out by now in order to change the subject off of the debunked Missing Weapons story.
I would suggest that they've got another October Surprise waiting, but Drudge's report that the weapons story was supposed to be aired on Oct. 31 shows that THAT was THE story--they wouldn't have a competing October Surprise out then to compete with the 60 Minutes one.
I'll bet they're scrambling for a replacement OctoSurp, one just as easily knocked down. But once a well-orchestrated series of stories supporting each other falls apart, the individual stories that appear on their own lose potency.

Bush has said he skipped the exam because he knew he would not be flying F-102A fighters in Alabama. That one does worry me. You're in the military, it's required, you do it -- period. That's what you swore to do. If you don't think you need it, then get a waiver from the appropriate authority. Should I have skipped my yearly MOS qualification because I knew I was getting out in six months anyway? Not a chance.
The military could have decided to call him to active duty, and then they'd have a pilot ordered to go who can't -- all because that pilot took it upon himself to decide he didn't need a physical. Don't say "They wouldn't have done that" because that's not the point. The military has rules and regulations to make sure everyone in training status is ready for a potential (however far-fetched) call to arms.
Bush's own statement leads me to believe he really has a "the rules don't apply to me" mentality. What other rules don't apply to him? Federal law? The Constitution?
But then I think that was 30 years ago and people do change -- Bush certainly has in many ways to the better. But then there's that statement showing he still believes his personal decision trumps policy. What am I to think?

Bush stopped attending Guard drills Slight correction in the wording: He asked for and received permission to stop attending Guard drills because he had already accumulated enough points to make up for it.

Fox ran a story on this more than a month ago. Detailed the no. of points required to meet the minimum standard for guard service. Bush had already exceeded the min. no. of points when he requested an early discharge. Bush was trained on the F-102 fighter. At the Alabama location to which he was assigned, they did not have the F-102 that is why he did not need or take the flight physical. He would not be flying. All of the MSM is well aware that Fox researched this topic and aired its findings. They continue to spew these lies for no other purpose than to cause a few people not to vote for Bush. As I stated in an email to cbs last week, "You spent 5 years digging into President Bush's TANG record, and yet you have not spent 5 mins. investigating kerry's questionable discharge."

Okay ... That's it ... I've held out as long as I can.
I have finally seen the light, and now realize that President Bush is a lowlife, and ran away from his National Guard obligations.
I'm switching my vote to our Vietnam hero, John Kerry.
Now will you quit posting this crap?

I wouldn't put too much stock in this tired old saw. The same people who are bringing up questions about Bush's service in the military are the same ones who defended Clinton for not serving. IOW, they have no moral standing to criticize someone who answered the call to serve.
George Bush never made his service in the ANG a political point, unlike John Kerry's shameless hyping of his service record. If someone wants to make their service record an issue, they should be prepared for scrutiny. It amazes me that the lamebrain media goes after the one guy who didn't make an issue of his service record, while giving essentially a free pass to the one who did.
