PA people -- I'm from a lost cause blue state just north of PA (I'll give you 3 guesses :) ) -- I can't realistically plan to come down to PA. However, is there a way to be given some phone bank numbers for get-out-the-vote or fencesitter calls? I'd be willing to make some calls from here at home.

I knocked on doors in Philadelphia for five hours yesterday ( went down with a bunch of New Yorkers) and am going back again today.

Get this - a bunch of NYU college students came down by bus to Philly to volunteer - I almost fainted when I saw them.

If you volunteered on-line, let me tell you how that works. Main headquarters gets those names, organizes them, sends them out to the locals. The locals at some point make the calls, etc. It is long and drawn-out. And is not a great system.

If you really want to volunteer, GO in person to the nearest Republican Headquarters. I can guarantee that if you walk in there and say, "Can I help? I will do anything" they will put you to work. There is plenty to be done. There is plenty to do on Tuesday, too. Come and join us.

While pumping gas I overheard a man and woman argueing about the election. She lost the argument and jumped in her car and sped away, I gave a bumpersticker to the Aftican American man who was voting for Bush and had a really good argument backed with logic and facts. I carry bumper stickers and buttons and signs everywhere to pass out. Have worked some at the phone banks and will work there again tomorrow. And I send lots of email.

I'm in Illinois, and though my area is GOP, Illinois is deep blue. So tomorrow and Tuesday I'm going to Wisconsin and/or Iowa with a fellow activist. But we're not ignoring our local area: We've held five straight Vote for Life gatherings at a busy intersection in town. I've written pro-Bush/anti-Kerry columns for my local paper. We've freeped the local Dems when they had Kerry "Band of BS" member Jim Wasser speak, and again last week when they showed Fahrenheit 9/11 at their HQ. Most of the reaction to the F9/11 freep from passersby was positive, and I told them all to show up and vote Tuesday.

I'll be glad when this thing is over...

I believe after repeating many of the facts learned here at FR to them, that several family members voted for Bush who wouldnt have before.

At least 4 people along with our votes would make 6 for W.

I have lobbied for Bush at work also, within reason. And to friends who would hear it. They probably think my religion is politics..

But why anyone would need prodding after Sept 11th (and Bush's actions since then along with Kerry record) is still beyond my understanding.

I've done a boatload of data entry(main thing I did), research, mailings as well as some gun stuff and door bags. Not as much door to door as I should have done. I also did the most important thing of all. Voted.
