I take your point and won't deny that for some, it becomes the ultimate expression of "choice." That is why I am so opposed to right to die laws.

It just didn't sound like it in this particular case. Still, yours is a very thoughtful post, and I agree with it generally.

This could have been so much worse. He could have tried to take some republicans with him. RIP Mr. Veal

He graduated from UGA with a degree in sociology, but was not a student at the present time, friends said.

Already graduated, but not a student any more? Whoa! Who'd of guessed that.

Yes it is a tragedy when someone realizes he or she has based an entire life on an illusion. I had a friend who killed himself when Star Trek was canceled -- his whole reason for living had been destroyed.

...another casualty of our biased NEA-run Government Education System....and he was a graduate of sociology from UGA/working as a cook. ...and active in politics.

...It is a tragedy when someone realizes he or she has based an entire life on an illusion. Any comments. ...Sen. $hrillary, $Kerry et. al. ?

Look for R.E.M. to make a song in honor of him.

This was a young man caught up in the rhetoric of the extreme left, just as the world has. The world does not see the US as we really are, just by the picture painted by Hollywood.

I pray that our country will once again come together in support of our country, but the dims are already spinning their lies about the red states, so it doesn't seem likley.

The liberals are to ones who bring people to dispair. May God bless this young man's soul and be with his loved ones.

I think we should petition the Darwin Awards committee to set up a separate Political Award category. That way Rachel Cory and Andy Veal can always be appropriately remembered.

Double 00 buckshot to the head is not the kind of brainwashing you refer to, I suppose. But once he actually opened up his skull how did expect to get the water hose and power spray away his blues.

It's sad that he would commit suicide. He didn't realise he lived in the greatest country ever. He must of been fed some poisonus information. And anyne who takes their own lives has really went beyond that point of sanity. God have mercy on us all.
