In MD where I live most of the welfare, crime and unemployment is in the city and the rest of MD has to pay for it.

You got that right!!! I live in Carroll County, MD (Voted 3.5 to 1 for Bush). Very RED in my county. In fact, most of MD is red except for 4 counties (Prince Georges, Montgomery, Howard and Baltimore).

If determined on a county basis, it would be easily 80% from BLUE counties. All the big cities are infested with welfare leeches, not Bush counties.

I live in Annapolis- went for Bush about 60%. I hope the Maryland GOP can make serious inroads into PG county. I think O'Malleyland (Bawlmer), and the Birkenstock crowd in Montgomery and Howard is beyond hope.

They have the nerve to call themselve Mainstream!! In 20 years the Blue states will be Red! They're barely holding onto WI, MN, and MI.

Pray for W and Our Troops

They would have to burn coal and go nuclear. That would be fun to watch!

Why do we have to wait 20 years before they start thinking about seceding? We all know the libs can't get beyond thinking about anything. They talk that talk but never do the walking. sigh

Thanks for the ping. Seems like the timeline on this secessionist talk runs pretty much the same on both sides. 20 years - give or take a few.

You'd have to think they'd realize that we might give up the leftist people, but we'd not give up the territory they occupy.

That is an outstanding graphic. What it really shows is that there is no such thing as a "blue state" (with the possible exceptions of Massachusetts and Vermont!). There are "red" states with "blue" urban population centers.

If one were to look at a state amp one would conclude that three Pacific coast states (CA, OR, WA) were bastions of liberalism. But they are not. The liberals are found in greater Los Angeles, the San Francisco-Berkeley-Oakland metroplex, Portland, and Seattle.

Look at Illinois - almost all red except for Chicago! Michigan - red except for Detroit!

These states can be "reclaimed" with efforts focused minimizing the liberal margins in the cities. From looking at information on the CA Sec. of State website (Elections Division), there are hundreds of thousands of Republicans in the Los Angeles and the San Franciscio Bay area who did not turn out to vote, or voted Democrat, particularly in the South Bay (Silicon Valley) area. They can be turned from the dark side.

I honestly don't think we have much hope with PG, Montgomery or Baltimore. Howard Co is probably our best shot.

MA, RI, VT, ME are blue states, even away from the cities.

I also wont let let NY secede........

No worries, I'll speak for Texas. We'll fight to keep your land for ya. Any liberals still alive after the shootin's over can have a peaceable choice of the leftist-socialist nation of their choice to move to... at their cost.

It does appear that the consensus for a civil war (however that scenario plays out) is 20 years, but it can happen sooner. All it needs is a spark. I am curious what would happen if the Dims lose more seats during the mid-terms.

We already have people committing suicide (NY Ground Zero this AM). This is crazy, but if they want to go that route, then we have no choice but to oblige them. Bring it on!!!

He says within 20 years certain blue states will start thinking about secession.

Actually there are only TWO blue states. The rest are red states with a smattering of blue precincts. He may want to rethink that civil war thing...
