schwarz leaves the impression that rose was involved too. and, that joe kennedy was frustrated by his daughter's emerging sexuality and wanted to thwart it. but he didn't mind his sons' sexual escapades, including a lifelong relationship with lem billings by jfk, described in a full-page footnote.

The book, The Kennedys in Hollywood - by Lawrence J. Quirk, a Kennedy family confidant, clearly states that Joe did this to this daughter against Rose's wishes, and that there was a rift in the marriage for months afterwards.

according to the schwartz book that i mentioned earlier in the thread, joe kennedy invested heavily in manipulating the u.s. press.

interesting in the schwartz book was joe's investment in a hollywood movie company. the owner didn't want to sell, so joe set him up with a prostitute who claimed the owner took advantage sexually of her. charges were filed. the owner sold his movie company to joe. and later inexplicably, the woman committed suicide. or, "kennedycide".

god only knows, but the kennedys suck.

Yeah, I remember that too, and I also remember reading that for all the hideous cr-- Joe dished out, that was the ONE thing Rose never forgave him for. A lot of that stuff was written around when Rose died.

Deplorable and disgusting does not go far enough is this terrible episode in the Kennedy family history.
I've read enough of these various Kennedy books to question whether Rosemary was retarded in any manner at all. She seemed to be a very high strung girl brought up under the thumb of her parents and was a little rebellious.
In any event Old Joe Kennedy has a frontal lobotomy preformed on his own sweet child and condemned her to hell for the rest of life. There isn't enough that can said about this evil crime, just another one in a long line that seems to be infinite. I hope Old Joe and Rose are rotting in hell for this.
