I was amazed at the performance of Roethlisberger with the two interceptions and stunned at Doug Brien's missed field goals. These two guys were pretty great all season. I was rooting for the Steelers but cheered the performance of the Jets against a 15-1 team.

When that first kicked bounced off the the side of the posts, that was as much drama as I could ask for in a game. The following interception and such had me of the edge of the easy chair.

When the Steelers finally won it with Reed's kick I was jumping up and down.

It had to be just crushing for the Jets, though. They played as champs and deserved the same respect.

And regardless of Brien's previous performance, I sure as heck would not have been him walking into that locker room. They zoomed in on him as the game ended headed that way. All I could think was "DEAD MAN WALKING!". That's going to be tough to answer for back in New York.

What a great playoff game, even with the goof-ups.

Where is Scott Norwood today? Anyone know?

We were lucky. And the Jets got lucky too.

A punt return for a TD and an interception for a TD.

Bettis fumbles for the first time all season.

Roethlisberger with a sore thumb tossing up soft passes.

The Jets scored 3 points with their offense.

They're lucky it was as close as it was.

We won and the bottom line is that we won. All the stats favored the Steeler's or were exceptionally close. I think NYJ had 1 more yard passing. The Jets offense was horrible. It made ours look spectacular. All the Jets could muster was 3 points and them announcers kept saying how bad Big Ben played. Well, Chad Pennington wasn't a heck of a lot better since he only put up three points. In fact the Jets haven't scored a touchdown against us on offense in something like 14 quarters! Everybody is all over the kid at quarterback but i think for a rookie he did ok. Plus, he didn't get rattled.

I will say this though about the announcers. They did mention that Big Ben donated his entire games check to the tsunami victims.

Myron Cope really took Ben to task over that one in his post-game show. Myron seems to really dislike Ben. He is on him about every little thing. His rants about Ben wearing gloves are becoming tiresome.

The cops were trying to talk Brien down from the Fort Pitt Bridge the last I heard.

;-)

It will be tough for him in NY. The job of a F.G. kicker looks like a cake job until you see that kind of thing yesterday.

Yeesh, so true. Get down from that bridge, kid!

It's particularly bad in this case, because the Jets really excelled yesterday. How many times did I think "The Steelers are going to lose it? After the second WTF?-style interception following the missed 47 yd fg, I was thinking, "It's over..."

Everyone else in NY had to be thinking the same thing. I just shake my head thinking about Brien. Well, here's an example of "One minute you're King of the World, next minute you're it's doormat."

You can't help but feel bad for them.

GO STEELERS!

--- You're right, but trust me, Steeler fans have had their share of busted hearts the past 10 years or so! (Tenn. Titan playoff game in 2002 for example -- that was a killer!)

My impression of the game:

Rothlisberger had a terrible game,

as did the Steeler's defense. Both will have to improve

for the Steelers to advance.

You and me both!
You just don't give NFL field goal kickers second chances!

I hope Brien doesn't get too much grief. I really felt bad for him, tho I wanted the Steelers to win.

I hope this sharpens the Steelers up and they can get to and win the SB this year!

Steeler Fans are everywhere. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette has been running a series of photos of the Steeler Nation. You should send in a photo. I'm working on one to send in from here in the heart of Patriot Country.

A patently absurd and witless, and uninformed comment!

The defense allowed 3 points, no touchdowns! They only gave up 275 yards from scrimmage. What game were you watching?

Did you mean to say offense ?

Because it was the Steelers defense that kept them in the game.

Huh?

The defense only gave up 275 total yards and THREE points!

Without the int. return, fumbles and punt return, the game wouldn't have been close.
