Chavez proclaims “Socialism is not dead”

As long as greed exists, as long as humans are lazy, as long as envy crowds the human heart, as long as brains are taught to run empty of facts, we can dream of "living off the chickens in our neighbor's yard."

And "undead" Socialism will continue to haunt the earth.

I thought so too, but then I've seen you post before. There are a lot of literalists round here.

"Convince yourselves: those who still doubt that there is no solution to poverty or misery, capitalism is the only main cause, it is at the root of the great problems of inequality in the world, of exploitation and misery".

Aw, he just doesn't give socialism enough credit. It's caused enough poverty and misery to make Andrew Carnegie look like a philanthropist. Come to think of it, he was a philanthropist. Lenin, on the other hand, was a murderous economic incompetent. Chavez is a little boy trying to walk in his daddy's bloodstained boots. He may even manage a step or two. Pray for his people.

Got to go to bed now but just can't wait to see whether thoughtomator says that this doesn't exist or whether socialism in Venezuela, the worlds fifth largest oil producer doesn't matter. The suspense is killing me. Well I got to go and dream about killing commies like the good old days, nite all.

Mugabe and Chavez.

Two vile, reprehensible creatures, swimming in a fetid, stagnant pond.

A sickening-but illustrative-photo.

My favorite Chavez quote was from a couple of years ago when he said, "Los Estados Unidos no tiene el derecho de expresar su opinion." (The United States does not have the right to express its opinion.) I guess now the world must apply to Mr. Chavez for permission to express an opinion. Has anyone ever heard this guy speak? All the left-wingers who like to complain about Bush's grammatical errors should have to listen to a speech by this guy. He rambles on and on, jumping from topic to topic, ranting and raving, without having any coherent point. He's an absolute embarrassment to the majority of Venezuelans.

Hugo Chavez:

I resent the implication that my subjects do not enjoy listening to the ten hour exegeses I deliver on the state of proletarian-driven agricultural initiatives in the outlying rural areas of Venezuela. C'mon! Would you not enjoy gazing into this beautiful visage for ten consecutive hours?

(Points to face that won him second runner-up in "Mr. [Hideous] Venezuela" contest, three years running.)

...that "socialism is not dead" and announced an "agrarian revolution" in his country with the seizure of 20 million hectares (49.3 million acres).

Yeah, I'd bet that the people you kicked off of their land are now going to live in happiness for the rest of their days... If you repossessed the land "Ukraine Style", that is...

"agrarian revolution"

Chavez's solution to landless peasants is to give them a plot and make them permanent, collective sharecroppers for the greater glory of their socialist state. Quite the opposite of the capitalist model, where displaced peasants typically move to urban centers and get factory jobs, thus moving up a rung or two on the social/economic ladder.

Socialism isn't dead just yet

Although, Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders and Jerry Nadler do have one foot in the grave

Chavez is another one that was able to use vote Fraud to get (stay) in power.

Gregoire and he have something in common.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez proclaimed to activists at the World Social Forum Sunday in Brazil, that "socialism is not dead" and announced an "agrarian revolution" in his country with the seizure of 20 million hectares (49.3 million acres).

What a dick.

Now I guess we should be getting ready for famines in Latin America. That's the only thing "agrarian revolutions" ever bring.

Chavez needs to go. Fast and permanently.
