Well, a pedophile [properly speaking] would be a participating adult depicted in the child pornography pictures, and not (or not necessarily) an adult possessing these pictures. What one deals with here is a consumer/collector of child pornography.

A pedophile (properly speaking) is:

ped·o·phile ( P ) n. An adult who is sexually attracted to a child or children.

A person possessing such material is a pedophile. An adult engaging in such acts is also a pedophile.

Thought you might be interested in knowing about David Race Bannon, who was a "cleaner" for Interpol's "Archangel" sub-directorate.
