"Sounds a lot like BJ and the Hildabeast."Between those two couples, Judy Dean is the normal one.

I'm not so sure he's going to be all that "upset" about not having her around. We should not be attacking her, IMO. She has not tried to be a partisan. She apparently just wants to stay with her practice. I think we should back off, because Dean gives us plenty of material without dragging his non-participant wife into the fray.

You are right. And you are a gentleman. I think families should be left out of these things. I don't know a thing about her. I would assume she would prefer to keep it that way.

I'm not going to rip into Dean's wife or his relationship with her. She is not aspiring to be president. She, from what I can tell, was rather reluctant to even be dragged into a TV interview. She works as a doctor and has her own career. Unless she starts getting involved in politics, IMO she should not be part of the political discussion.I agree. I don't think we should read too much into this situation (besides, by engaging in this kind of wild speculation, we may end up giving the other side ammunition).

Not only that, she has a long-standing practice. It's not really possible to just pick up and move if you're a physician and you have a practice. Besides, I'm sure she feels a commitment to her patients.

Yeah, the Demoncrats keep saying they have to do a better job at getting their message of family values out to the people. Hell of a way to do it by electing a guy to head your party whose wife obviously doesn't want to be with him. She wasn't with him on the campaign trail and she won't be with him in Washington. What the Demoncrats haven't figured out yet is that it isn't enough just to talk about family values, you have to believe in and practice them.

And you are a gentlemanI wouldn't go that far...
But seriously, family should only be targets if they are part of the campaign. That's why Kerry's daughters deserved all the grief they got from us. Dean's wife made exactly one appearance with him, on a 60 Minutes interview, and even then she seemed like she couldn't wait for the interview to be over.
I don't know what her views are. They are probably quite liberal. But she is not a combatant. And we need to follow some kind of political Geneva Conventions and not target non-combatants in our debates and ribald abuse.
Now Te-re-Za, she's a whole 'nother story.

Mrs. Dean has a full life, while Howards is consumed by hatred.

She's an abortionist. She aborts babies. So debate her role on that level. She is not part of Dean's political persona.

She is ugly to boot.So what? She isn't trying to be anything other than a doctor. I'm not ugly, but I'm fat, middle-aged and surly. We look petty by going after a man's wife who isn't trying to be in the spotlight.

What's uncalled for. I didn't make any statements about her appearance. She was almost never with him while he was campaigning last year, he may not like having her around.
