Even peer-reviewed work can have problems. Technology can aid in uncovering bad work.

Another dating error was identified for a skull found near Paderborn, Germany, that Protsch dated at 27,400 years old. It was believed to be the oldest human remain found in the region until the Oxford investigations indicated it belonged to an elderly man who died in 1750. Did you all catch that?
The skull is only 255 years old, yet it appeared to be a NEANDERTHAL Skull!!
Based upon appearance, it was CALLED NEANDERTHAL!!
This PROVES that evolution is wrong, for Neanderthals have been so called ancient human ancestors, not supposed to exist today, yet when we find a similar looking skull, we label it NEANDERTHAL...only the Skull is only 255 years old!!
Evolution is such a fun theory, you can think up anything from microbes on meteors to aliens with a mission to populate the planet, but if someone says, "In the beginning, God...

When I read "dating disaster" I thought of something like this.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Frankfurt University's president, Rudolf Steinberg, apologized for the university's failure to curb Protsch's misconduct for decades. "A lot of people looked the other way," he said. Frankfurt U's equivilent of Ward Churchill?

One night I went to pick up a girl and when I pulled into her driveway, I hit her father's car. But I tried to pretend it didn't happen so as not to ruin the night. I took her to a restaurant and I was a nervous wreck about being found out that I hit her father's car so I didn't make very good conversation. Then when the check came, I realized that I didn't have my wallet on me! I put on some dress clothes just before going to pick her up and I left my wallet in my jeans!
So she had to pick up the tab and even though I said I'd pay her back, she said "never mind." It was a long, quiet trip back to her house. When I pulled into her driveway, her father was waiting on the front porch. One of the neighbors had evidently told him about the "accident." Even though no apparent damage was done, he insisted that we pass papers and admonished me, in front of his daughter, for not telling him about it earlier.
Now that was a dating disaster!

has resigned after a German university panel ruled he fabricated data and plagiarized the works of his colleagues. This has probably been posted 161 or 162 times, but "Only this guy has done this?" Name me one who HASN'T been doing the above.

In their report, they called Protsch's 30 years of work a "dating disaster."

The key to peer-reviewed work is to actually have peers review it in the first place, not wait thirty years and then reject it. He got a free pass because his work (or perhaps "alleged work") conformed to expectations. Now, Stringer is saying that "What was considered a major piece of evidence showing that the Neanderthals once lived in northern Europe has fallen by the wayside. We are having to rewrite prehistory." IOW, it's time to do some Replacement, and von Zieten and the Neandertals have to go.

Prof von Zieten denies the claims, saying that he legitimately obtained the skulls from a Heidelberg ethnologist in 1975. Frankfurt university last month suspended the professor from his post in the anthropology department while it runs its own inquiry.

My first thought was he must have arranged a blind date for the Dean.
When he goes to pick up his date, knocks on the door, out steps Helen Thomas.
