Why do the people of Massachutsetts keep reelecting these people over and over. Obviously the majority of people there like his type of leadership, that's very scary in itself.

I often wonder that my self. What is wrong with the folks in MA? Of course, the same could be said for those who support Boxer, Waxman, Kerry, Clinton, et al.....

A question for the crowd.

??What happens to the $8 million if suddenly he "becomes ill" and decides to not run for the senate???

??Does the unused campaign funds get converted to him personally??

??IF so, does he have to pay taxes on the "contributed income"??

> It seems almost like a religiously-held belief that Republicans are evil.

There are indeed religious roots to this belief--the old and outdated struggle of Irish-Catholic immigrants vs. Protestant owners/pols, the heirs of the Puritans. "No Irish need apply" was once a harsh reality. Things have changed--what was it, 83 church closings in the Boston diocese?--and yet the memory lingers. But there are other reasons...the NYT/Globe controlled media, academia, special interests, legal nepotism. BFT is the spiritual head of the one-party system. Someday its suffocating clutch will be released.

I hope I'm here to witness the final meltdown!! I sure did enjoy the feeling in the days after the election, when people in Boston were visibly depressed and stunned. You give a good analysis -- it does seem as if people here are ardently fighting the battles of 50 or 100 years ago.

The Massachuchetts political vote machine must be like little Cuba.. Block captains and all.. Its all just a little too effiencent for an honest american political contest..

Politics in Mass.. must be something like American wrestling..

Teddy the "Frog" Kennedy , his family and brain dead supporters, should stage a fund raiser around an open water swim competition, designed to rescue a damsel trapped in a sunken OldsMobile. We have all heard of Teddy's swimming prowess, that enabled him to tread water until Mary Jo either drowned or died of old age, before Froggy reported the incident to proper authorities.

Treaddie as Teddie has since come to be known as, managed to save his career in the Senate, by staying afloat until his contacts managed to horse whip and/or intimidate whatever garbage passed for the legal establishment around the drowining pool area, into testifying that such irratic actions were actually the norm around those parts and the Kennedy's had already suffered enough and holding Treaddie responsible for his actions, was just plain d*mn inhumane.

Dough or no dough,
Treaddie will win though.
For go with the Kennedy flow,
is all the chussians know.

He's making the brash assumption that, between now and '06, his liver won't claw its way out of his gut and run screaming into the night.

I don't know if this has been asked but I just thought of something... Since 'Ted' served in the US Army from 1951-1953, how come he didn't go to Korea where that little war was waging at the time???? You don't think he used 'pull' to keep him out do ya??? Nah..silly me, a Kennedy wouldn't do that, they're all honorable.

Hey, I'm not fan of the Kennedy's, and IMO Teddy is the worst of the bunch.

But this comment isn't fair. Have you forgotten the Kennedy family history in WW2? Plenty of legitimate charges against the Kennedy family. Plenty! This one is not.

Over 20 years ago, I worked in NYC, I saw Big Ted near a limo and I Freeped him. It was a long time ago, before FR, but I'd like it to count as a freep now. :)
