Having heard Weasel on several shows now, it would seem the man has truly hung himself with his sleazy attempt to garner fifteen minutes of fame.

He isn't even a good liar and seemingly thought no one would be questioning him.

He weasels around how the tapes came to be in the hands of the NYSlimes.

Even the leftis media is hostile to him.

He ought to get himself to the outhouse where he belongs.

You can't blame them for getting excited...after all, its like finding your dad's playboy collection under his mattress while he and mom are out to dinner.

yeah , and then opening it up to find all the girlie pics have been cut out :O)

What's so especially disgusting about the Mr. Bush's opportunistic deployment of gay-bashing for political purposes is that, by all accounts and evidence, he doesn't believe a word of it. On the tapes, Bush is a "closet tolerant" who knows perfectly well that what he is doing is wrong.

When I meet people who, out of sincere conviction (usually religious) believe homosexuality is sinful and that public policy ought to be deployed to prevent this sinful behavior, I disagree with them, but understand that this sort of deep moral disagreement rooted in faith is associated with certain religious cults.

When you see someone like Bush who knows perfectly well that the view he's adopted for political purposes is wrong, but who adopts it anyway out of cyncial thirst for power, well, then, that's just totally disgusting.

Provide ONE example of Bush gay-bashing. He hasn't done it and you know it. In fact, Wead was mad at him because he was too tolerant!

Hmmm. She was also on every Jeff Gannon thread. Coordinated attacks? Coincidence? I know what I think!

She was?

Well, then, I say she's obsessed with homosexuals, too!

Duh!

You didn't even notice that Bush came out against gay marriage just in time for the 2004 campaign? Where have you been for the past year, Siberia?

A former Clintonista wrote an article just a few months ago. I've forgotten which one. Lanny Davis? He went to college with Bush. He told a story in the article that he was present when some frat boys made fun of a gay guy walking by. Bush, who didn't even know the fellow, told his friends to knock it off.

If HE knows that the president has always been opposed to gay bashing, it's just darned amazing that you don't seem to understand that.

Opposing gay arriage is not gay-bashing. Reserving marriage for a man and a woman is simply what MOST AMERICANS BELIEVE.

Show me an example of gay-bashing from the President. You can't.

I bet you were so disappointed that those tapes were innocuous that you have been thinking and thinking of a way to twist it inot a Bush-bash, and this is your feeble effort.

The liberals I have interacted with in life share several common traits. They have a poor work ethic (in fact rarely work at all) and seem to enjoy living off the government dole. With this in mind, it is not surprising that they would find ample time to spam, disrupt, and spew on subjects they know nothing about.

Duh, yourself.

Did you not notice that on the exact same tape wherein he said he would not kick or fire homosexuals, because he is a sinner and cannot differentiate kinds of sin, he also said he agrees that the institution of marriage should be preserved and is between a man and a woman? Once again, he is totally consistent. And Miss Marple and Howlin are clearly correct...it is not gaybashing to protect the institution of marriage between man and woman.

You know it, and you cannot provide a single instance of where he bashed gays.

I sent an email to Doug Wead, chastising him for releasing the private conversations with the President. Here is the response I got via email from Doug Wead:

Quote:
I know it looks that way. Wish I could live my life over and do things differently. Actually, I think the released tapes made him look good, that unlike other tape stories this was not about catching someone doing something wrong but catching someone doing something right. This is what I am doing now, not sure what else I can do.

A Personal Note: My thanks to those who have let me share my heart and regrets about recent events. Contrary to a statement that I made to the New York Times, I have come to realize that personal relationships are more important than history. I am asking my attorney to direct any future proceeds from the book to charity and to find the best way to get these tapes and give them back to the president to whom they belong.

Doug Wead
END OF QUOTE

So, my question to FreeRepublic. Do you think this is REALLY from Doug Wead? Did any of you get responses from him?

I can't tell you if Wead actually responded to your email or not. If this was indeed him, his magnanimous offer to donate funds to charity is too little, too late.

I do not trust the man. He has "come to realize that personal relationships are more important than history." Sheesh, I figured that out in junior high school. True friends are too hard to come by to brush them aside for personal gain, selfishness, or (gag) history. I would never have had to think twice about jeopardizing the honor of a friendship with the President of the United States.

Kristol had spoken with many on the hill and opinions ranged from goofball to sleazeball. (I don't recall him sharing his own sentiments directly.

I saw this and Kristol said he and others remembered Wead and he had spoken with others who had worked with him and "we", said Kristol, were ranging from sleazeball to goofball. I got the clear and distinct impression Kristol was in the "Wead is a sleazeball" camp---he made other comments that made it clear he was disgusted with Wead, as well. Then Krauthammer said between the two, sleazeball clearly was the most appropriate, to which Kristol nodded in agreement.

You never know what is going to come out of Kristol's mouth though. I was hoping he wasn't taking up for Wead.

He most certainly did not. He denounced Wead in very strong terms.

I boycott Hardball but another freeper told me that Chris Matthews spoke to Wead yesterday. Wead said he would no longer make media appearances (so Matthews was telling what he said, Wead was not on the show saying it himself) and would donate the proceeds of the book to charity. Also, this freeper reported that Wead said he would now turn the tapes over to Bush.

I do not trust him. He must actually do what he claims he will do, but it does sound like the email comports with what this freeper said Chris Matthews relayed from Wead.

How weird. Didn't I just read this same post from you on another thread? I'll cut and past here the reply I made to you there, too:

I love how libs act like before old George W. came along, why anybody could marry anybody else.

That's how y'all talk and act. Like he is standing in the way of something that until now was accepted, instead of the fact that he's upholding centuries of precedent.

BTW, how come the "tolerant" dems like Kerry always take care to say how they're against gay *marriage* and you don't stamp your tiny feet over that? Hmmmmmmmm?

Thanks cyn. It's amazing how you can recall this so accurately several days after the broadcast. I'm afraid I put up my Kristol filter whenever he speaks. ;-)
