That was clasic Bobby Knight. He basically terrorized the Refs from warm up to the final buzzer.

I believe Larry Siegfried was also on that team, before going on to a long career with the Celtics (and known as "The Boston Strangler.")

"Did he actually use profanity or did he just lay into someone?"

Here is from the first page of a google search on Keady's profanities that resulted in technical fouls. It goes on and on for nearly 500 pages. Coaches don't get technical fouls for simple complaints unless they get totally out of control. I think Keady has gotten the most technical fouls of any coach in college basketball! What a class act!

Keady also was bothered about a technical foul called against him with 51 seconds remaining in the first half and Purdue trailing 26-24. ...

But a 3:55 scoring drought and a technical foul on Keady turned the momentum of the game to Wisconsin's side. ...

Keady exploded on the sideline and was called for a technical foul with 10:00 left. Ohio State made the two ...

... after a technical on Keady with 14:38 left. A three-point play by Kelvin Torbert with 12:05 remaining capped the spurt, opening a 47-30 advantage.

... Coach Keady saw it, and he just went crazy.

Within a couple of minutes into the game, Gene already had two technical fouls. ...

In his 25th year at Purdue, Keady adopted a throwback approach ... He even drew a technical foul in the second half and then ...

... Keady's frustrations boiled over late in the first half when he picked up a technical foul for coming out of the coach's box to argue a traveling violation on ...

... second half, Purdue coach Gene Keady had seen enough. His loud and profane outburst at the officials over a disputed foul call led to a technical and points ...

... For Keady, who was slapped with a technical foul in the second half, the loss was bitter in front of a reunion of his former players from the past 25 seasons ...

Mike Tomzak was several years after Woody. Woody's last season was the Fall of 1978.

1) Tom Cousineau was the first player drafted from that class (Buffalo) though I think he went to the Candian Football league

2) Ron Springs - several years with the Cowboys

3) Jim Laughlin (falcons and I think the redskins)

4) Doug Donely - a few good years with the Cowboys

5) Todd Bell - All Pro with Da Bears

6) Keith Ferguson - Chargers

7) Vince Skillings - Cowboys

8) Robert Murphy - Falcons

9) Ray Ellis - Eagles

10) The infamous Art Schlichter - Colts

Several others were drafted but I'm not sure if they played much or at all in the NFL.

I see the hate for BK is from the Big 10 schools. I am in Lubbock, I sit behind the bench. Coach gets mad, yes. So does every coach in the field. Big Deal. Since moving to West Texas, he has raised lots of money for the library, and many other things. He has and does a lot for a kid here with seizures. Pat Knight being beside Coach helps him. I am not saying he does not have a quick temper. But if you saw the friends he has you might wonder what is it with someone like BK to hang with the likes of Clarence Thomas. General Swart (will not attempt to spell his name). Who doesn't like to win games???? ANd Coach always is complimenting the other teams and coaches. I can assure you he sells the seats in away games, and the thing that I have heard yelled at him are so uncalled for and even pale in comparrison to anything he has said. Our team takes the heat for the hate that the jealous have of him..... Oh well, I know any of you would love to have him, you just complain about him being Bob Knight, one of the all time greats in Coaching.

If I had to bet, I would say Ron Springs. He had a nice career with the cowboys and tampa bay (1979-1987). Acually, Todd Bell retired in 1989. By the way, punter/quarterbackTom Tupa was drafted and 1986 and I think he was still playing this past season.

He might be one of the all time great coaches in basketball, but he has losing records to both Purdue and Gene Keady. For the most part you missed him at his best/worst. It wasn't just the other Big Ten Schools that hated him, it was a lot of folks at IU as well and for plenty of good reasons.

I met the guy who made the tape at a friend's wedding. He was a security guard at IU. It was just another day at practice according to him.

I'm just glad we got Coach Tom Izzo here. He had a tough job replacing a legend in Jud Heathcoat, and had a couple of lean early years, but rebuilt a great program.

Unfortunatly, we keep losing our assistant coaches. We lost 6 of them. (Joplin, Heath, Crean, Gregory, Garland, and now Wojik). They all got head coaching jobs. I like how Keady is doing what Jud did here.

It's kinda sad Keady had such a lousy last season. I was a sophomore his first year. Hard to believe it's been 25 years. State has had a couple really quality guys in Heathcoat and Izzo.

Thanks. That was the one elite team we never beat in recent times - until today. The last time was back in the 50's. Even our Final 4 teams never beat Duke.

Kentucky or Utah is next. We beat Utah in our national title year. Kentucky we usually play each year and it usually goes down to the wire. Literally. We've won and lost by one or two.

I expect a dogfight.
