...trying to create liberal currents in civil society in the Muslim world.

This was one of the specific reasons the perps had for bringing down the towers - no?

Social Security returns efficiencies that very few private programs of its sort can return.

Possibly the STUPIDEST words to ever appear on the Internet!!!

How does someone as nice looking as Katrina become such a blithering idiot? To answer my own question: become a Liberal.

FReeper homework: dust off your old copies of Plato's Republic. Now turn to the "Allegory of the Cave." After reading it, do not these three sages above fit perfectly the description of the poor schmucks who are chained to the bench watching shadows go hither and thither on the wall thinking they represent reality?

From time to time, I’ll ping on noteworthy articles about politics, foreign and military affairs. FReepmail me if you want on or off my list.

Sorry if you already read this, but it is rich.

The libs did not mention their ole time religion of gun control once that I noticed.

You brought up an excellent point. Now the Libs want to be known as "progressives". Sheese. The devil by any other name is still the devil.

I don't think we understand the challenges of the 21st century if we make the ''global war against terror'' our organizing principle.

How do poor, dumb creatures like this even manage to find food, unaided...?

There is little in this exchange to indicate that the participants really understand how gravely wounded the Democratic Party is. The party is dying. It died intellectually years ago, and now the rest of its life force is draining away.

The Democratic Party has a huge problem with declining numbers demographically owing to liberalism's antipathy toward traditional marriage and traditional families. It has become the sterile party of gay marriage, childless yuppie couples, easy divorce, and widespread abortion on demand.

If blacks ever break away significantly (20 percent would do it) from the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party will be relegated to permanent minority status. Blacks are at the vanguard of the resistance to gay marriage, and gay marriage may be the cleavage point at which the party splits to its doom.

The Democrats' Prayer

May America be plagued with disunity
Let the terrorists attack with impunity
May the economy crash
And no one but the government have any cash
They voted for Republicans, so, let them feel pain!
With earthquakes, fire, floods and rain...

Hmmm...that sounds more like an incantation to me.;^)

We are in better shape than I would have believed. These people are not going to win over anyone new with the idiocy they are putting out. Five more Senate seats look possible!

Why has ''liberal'' become a dirty word for so many Americans today?

VANDEN HEUVEL. I would begin with the unrelenting assault on the term liberalism by the right wing. It has been a project over the last few decades.

Of course it doesn't hurt that they've been wrong on all the major issues over the same period.
