What a jerk. I worry more about how many kids take a trek into the woods between classes at Bangor High School to get stoned without the school saying anything about it than tobacco ads.

Actually, I don't care if those Bat carrying Needle Boys explode from within. It's not like I have a stake in the game or anything. We do have litter laws, but they are rarely enforced. I've been hit by flying ciggy butts, never a condom! Yikes, I usually ride with my mouth closed to avoid eating bugs, but now....

Well, if "they" didn't remove the receptacles, smokers would use them instead of putting them out on the ground!

I thought Federal law pre-empts state laws on tobacco ads. While the Feds have a law limiting ads the states cannot impose greater burdens.

Yea, bug's became a lesser issue for me a long time ago!

Also, I do get tired of cleaning up the road in front of my house when the "non-homeowners" driving by in the '74 pinto's (for example) without a muffler stop and dump their ash tray's in front of my driveway.

I, however, don't see this as a priority of concern to government until the more pertinent issues such as crime, protection of personal property, security, economy, and personal rights are resolved.

I just go and clean it up myself.

As usual however, walking around the hornets nest at a good distance and making decisions for us all is still the politicians modus operandi.

Not having ads in stores sure has discouraged marijuana smokers over the years...< /sarcasm>

You could have fooled me!

FYI, I never, ever toss a butt out the window, even when I drive the company vehicle or a rental, I but a can of soda do I have an ashtray when one is not available.

Littering is disgusting and I hate it, however this should NOT be a priority right now with government! IMO.

Oh yes. And what about all the pedophiles in the state?

Pedophiles don't generate revenue and transfer a large portion of it to the government so who cares? /sarcasm

Children should not be sheltered from advertising, nudity, swearing, violence, etc *by the government*. If a parent wants to do that, fine. The FCC, and conservative and liberal activists who try to push this nanny state bs should just get laid (hopefully with birth control so we don't have to put up with even more crybaby pussies).

I sure wish he would read this thread!!!

Last I heard, all automobile come standard with an ashtray too!

Actually, thanks to the anti-smoker cartel, many new vehciles do notcome equipped with an ashtray and it is an extra expense to get one.

The anti-smokers deserve just as much blame as the smokers.

I hate arguing about cigarette butts with smokers :(

The vast majority of smokers are not going to argue with you, only the litterers.......but anyone that would toss out a cigarette butt doesn't care what thy toss out. No one, and I mean NO ONE tosses ANYTHING out the window when riding in my car. Not only have I pulled over and made people pick something up - I have confronted the occupants of other vehicles when they do it.
